Three former Penn State administrators are going to jail for their part in the Jerry Sandusky scandal at Penn State.

Former President Graham Spanier, 68, was sentenced to four to 12 months, with the first two in jail and the rest under house arrest. He was convicted of child endangerment.

Former athletic director Tim Curley, 63, received a sentence of seven to 23 months, with three in jail. Former vice president Gary Schultz, 67, was given six to 23 months, with two months behind bars. They pleaded guilty to child endangerment.

"It really sickens me to think I might have played a part in children being hurt," Schultz said.

Putting away Sandusky without him spilling the beans on who else was involved was too convenient.

Only life long Penn State fans.

Any non-bias person would know Paterno made a serious mistake.

And to think Paterno wasn’t a man and doesn’t make mistakes is ridiculous.

He was just old school. You just didn’t talk about this stuff at all. I bet he didn’t think more than 15 minutes about this situation before it all blew up.

Sandusky couldn’t have done it for so long without help from a LOT of people in high places.

Here’s the thing that always bothered me.

The college coaching fraternity is fairly close-knit. With his resume, you would have thought that Sandusky’s name would have been near the top of the wish-list for any open head coaching vacancies, yet we heard very little of schools approaching him for a head coach position. Now, why was that? Were his proclivities common knowledge amongst the coaching fraternity?

What really is chilling to me is that statues are typically and usually erected AFTER someone passes on. But at Penn State, they erected as statue of Paterno, while he was still living and still coaching.

JoePa was given godlike status there and he and his program was not questioned. That is why the child abuse lasted so long with indifference of university administrators. If JoePa did not think it was an issue, it was not an issue.

Oh please, as a Penn Stater who was there during Joe Pa reign you simply do not know what you are talking about.

Paterno followed correct procedure when an incident was reported. There was an is no evidence that he was aware of Jerry Sandusky’s crimes prior to the report. Sandusky had been cleared prior by the police.

Most people have not bothered to read the detailed post trial write ups of the entire sorted affair(s). I have, at least I think I have read the majority of write-ups that were published. The impression left by the press was a false narrative. It would take a long time to correct the many false impressions so I will leave it at this:

What specifically did Joe Pa not do that he should have?

Give specific things he should have done that he did not do and perhaps, after a full explanation is given you will see why some still defend the man. If on the other hand you have something I am unaware of, I will gladly admit my fault in the matter if you can make the case.

Your ball.
