When I was ten my dog died, and after school I asked Sister Mary Edwards if I would see him again in heaven, and she told me that she was sure that there was a heaven for dogs. The nuns often improvised theology, and under the circumstances that was a useful improvisation.

Many passages here that talk about God’s creatures in Heaven.
You’re certainly correct about God’s options and our understanding thereof.
1 Corinthians 2:9 - But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:
And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:
But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.
All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.
There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.
So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
Yes.
“13 is not a good number for the Pense family.”
Generally speaking, 12 to 14 aren’t very good for cats and dogs either.
MANY (most) things are NOT stated in the bible. Doesn’t make them not true.
Cats are one of Gods best creations!
Agree and Amen.
Adopting another rescue honors the one lost. Just sayin’.
Wow - if you were at a friends funeral would you tell their spouse that unless they had accepted Jesus before they died they would be burning in hell?
I mean, that's Biblical, but how about dispensing a little grace under the circumstances?
Our late, greatly missed Golden Retriever, Prior Lake Jake, lived with us for eight years when we lived in Minnesota. Jake loved the lake and would fling himself off the rip rap as soon as the ice went out.
At age eight, he developed a fast growing cancer on his lower jaw that the vet couldn’t resolve.
Visiting with our former neighbors, we were told that a “mystery” Golden Retriever had been seen swimming and splashing when the ice went out of the lake...
“MANY (most) things are NOT stated in the bible.”
As is very clearly seen in John 21:25
I agree. Psalm 37:4 “I will give you the desires of your heart.” And one of those desires would be to be united in heaven, not only with loved ones, but with much loved pets! Also, He created animals before He created man and “a sparrow doesn’t fall to the ground” without His knowledge tells me He loves all & in my mansion that He is preparing for me, my pets will be there!
Has Chuck Schumer demanded an independent counsel investigation yet?
Rest in peace, little Oreo. You were a great cat.
May the Holy Spirit comfort the Pence family.
Allow me to add my two cents on this subject ...... Our Heavenly Father, in His infinite wisdom and love, has given us some special animals that serve as much more than food or physical work helpers. He gave them to us with the abilities to understand and perform some actions that rise above that of other animals and are more like some of the qualities that God gave to us humans when He created us in His image. These special animals which we deem as “pets” show to us empathy, love, loyalty, protection, and more. Such a great gift from God to fill needs that we have.
We know that God has promised us unbelievable happiness in heaven where all our needs will be met. And I have no doubt that His promise is real. So it is enough to know without a doubt that if in Heaven there is a need for our lost pets, then God will either have them there for us or else He will totally fill that need In some other way. Perhaps just the reuniting with family and the wonderful glory of God’s presence will be enough. Or perhaps part of His fulfillment of the joys of Heaven will include the actual presence of our beloved pets, or maybe just the memories of them will be enough. I am comforted to know whatever the circumstances are, it will be right and good.
Humans get to heaven because they recognize they have sinned and accepted Christ’s payment for those sins.
I will be happy in heaven because Christ is there, but God wants us happy so I would be happy also if my pup, Valor, was present also.
I don’t think his ‘sins’ merit eternal separation from God.
Now we see darkly as through a cloudy glass....
Heaven will have surprises for all of us.
If Heaven ain’t a lot like Dixie, I don’t want to go, if Heaven ain’t a lot like Dixie, I’d just as soon stay home. If they don’t have a Grand ol opry, like they do in Tennessee, just send me to hell in New York city it’ll be all the same to me.
And a neighbor swatted a mosquito last week.
I’m sure he is saddened by it. Took me 20 yrs to get over losing my dog, but we also lost 3 soldiers in a green on blue attack in Afghanistan yesterday.
