I read it, as presented here, from the Russell Kirk web site, and believed it to be so powerful that I copied it here in the belief that Freepers, generally, are willing to read materials from such a venerable purveyor of conservative thought as Kirk, even if they present a challenge.

Perhaps I was wrong.

Yes, just as is!

Perhaps when I looked at the bottom of the original I read and saw my friend, Russell Kirk's name, I didn't really care about the format. His depth of knowledge, wisdom and understanding would cause me to read, formatting or not.

Didn’t bother me at all.

Sometimes cut and pastes lose paragraphs and I just wondered if the original was the same.

I’m not going to criticize Russell Kirk’s writing style.
