Matt Drudge Issues Rare Tweets to Mark President Trump Hitting 50% Approval In Rasmussen Poll

Drudge Report founder Matt Drudge posted a rare tweet on Friday touting President Trump hitting 50 percent in a daily tracking poll by Rasmussen Reports.

"Sound of the atom splitting... coming from Rasmussen, most accurate poll of '16," Drudge wrote to his followers.

Drudge citing Rasmussen being the "most accurate of 2016" is in reference to the 2016 election, when the polling firm says it was the closest of all major pollsters in predicting the presidential election’s popular vote, pointing to final results posted by RealClearPolitics.

On its final poll released Nov. 7, the day before Election Day, Rasmussen had Hillary Clinton

up 2 points on Donald Trump

. Clinton won the popular vote by 1 percentage point, even though Donald Trump beat her on electoral votes.

No other pollster tracked by RealClearPolitics came as close to the final results.

Rasmussen has been a consistent outlier since Trump took office, however, with the president sitting at 39.9 percent when averaging all major approval polls, including Rasmussen. The 39.9 percent does not include Rasmussen jumping from 47 percent on Thursday to 50 percent Friday.

Drudge has been relatively more active on Twitter since Trump's inauguration on Jan. 20, primarily deriding Republicans on Capitol Hill for its slow pace implementing GOP legislative issues.

The 51-year-old Drudge always deletes his tweets a few hours after posting them. He doesn't follow any accounts on Twitter.

Drudge also told the congressional republicans to buck up or lose the special election in Georgia!

Where was useless Ryan when the Antifa was throwing Molotov cocktails on inauguration day? That would have been a good time to bring up civility.

Ryan and Milo have the same proclivity for sexual excursions...Milo admits and embraces it, Ryan hides it in his gym locker with the congressional black cauci.

Article says that since Trump’s inauguration Rasmussen has been a consistent outlier with its polls. I take the position that Rasmussen has done a good job and all the other polls are outliers and fixed as they have been and had been throughout the entire election season.

There are no leaders in the GOP congress. They are a confused group of clueless losers.

The unrelenting media/Hollywood assault against President Trump is actually turning a lot of people who might not have voted for him more sympathetic towards him. Regardless of where your politics lie, reasonable people see that Trump is really trying to do good for the American people and that his enemies, who typically couldn’t care less about America, are trying to tear him down.

Exactly and the Gallup type polls are just mind games from the left to prop up their false narrative that nobody likes Trump.

Most Americans are patriotic and do not like seeing the President attacked or being depicted as being assassinated.
Americans like an underdog.

someone posted earlier that his approval is probably at least 55% because of margin for error and people just don’t trust the surveys...

We should be thanking the Left and the Never Trumpers.

How we got the into the mess we need Trump to clean up is after an election voters would usually go back to sleep.

This hysteria by the DC Swamp dwellers is keeping Trump supporters engaged and enraged.

Dems, and the GOP-E, are busy digging themselves deeper into a poltical hole. We should thank them for their poltical idiocy.

The problem, I think, Trump has with his approval ratings is that most people hate him persinally, but they support his America first agenda. It just doesnt reflect in the “approval” numbers
