...At a time when it is now a veritable summers walk in the park for illegals to enter our country through unmanned border crossings -- Come one, come all, invites our prime minister -- the Trudeau Liberals are taking the teeth out of our security watchdogs. ... The problem, of course, is that its a watchdog with a louder bark but less teeth, as many of the Harper governments hard-line approaches to deal with terrorists will be both softened and diluted. This softening and watering down was evidenced between the lines of Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodales explanation of the reasoning behind the proposed legislation.
Canadians unequivocally want accountability, transparency and effectiveness from their security and intelligence agencies, he said.
They also suspect compliance with the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and respect for privacy.
He is half-right.
Accountability is one thing, but respecting the privacy of those who are feverishly plotting to do us harm in the name of ISIS or any other terrorist enemy is quite another.
Its a blunting of resolve.
But likely safe to say, for example, that 99% of Canadians, and 100% of fledgling jihadists, had no idea who was housed in Ottawas nondescript Langevin Block, named after a Father of Confederation now tarnished as an architect of the residential school fiasco.
Well, they certainly know now. On National Aboriginal Day, Trudeau announced the Langevin Block would be renamed the Office of the Prime Minister and the Privy Council.
Trudeau Liberals are either blind to todays reality, or they just dont get it...
Well living up near the Canadian border just became (sp) more fun...
Critics sometimes mock the notion of a border wall by talking of a wall on the Canadian border, but if Canada continues to take the English/EU route of welcoming dangerous population groups we may end up with one.
I do not wish this on anyone, but it may take Trudeau seeing a family member menaced by one of these ‘refugees’ before he understands and admits the dangers.
Either he is willfully naive just to impress other Globalist, or he doesn’t care, accepts the collateral damage of cowardice, and presumes the actual danger will never reach his doorstep.
In the quoted article, it should read “expect compliance” not “suspect compliance” LOL nobody up here suspects a Liberal of compliance with anything.
Do we need a border wall/fence with Canada now?
Seems the Canadians have gone EU self imposed cultural/jihadi suicide on us.
The Canadians do realize that they’re a sovereign nation in north America, and don’t owe the european socialists jack-shit?
See something?
Y’all better keep your mouth shut!!!
(This will not end well)
Bingo!
He had to have been forced on us somehow. Maybe election manipulation. This guy is the worst thing to happen to the Northern Hemisphere in a long time.
We haven’t even begun to reap the fruit of his shenanigans.
There’s no need for shortism on this site.
We’re better than this.
Can you please bend down? I can’t hear you.
“... and presumes the actual danger will never reach his doorstep.”
It won’t, and being a liberal a-hole, he don’t care about the common people. All liberals are the same.
Well...pending the case going to the Supreme Court, not sure what ability the US has in restricting travel from Canada.
Restrictions would kill us though. Countless fellow Canadians own property in Arizona and Florida. Not to mention what could happen to trade. My country has so much to lose, but the shiny pony is too thick to see it.
Safe in their gated communities.
Let them move back and prices will fall!
