Texas responds to CA LGBT travel ban, saying state firms 'fleeing over taxation and regulation'
The Los Angeles Times ^ | June 23, 2017 | Patrick McGreevy

On Thursday, California Atty. Gen. Xavier Becerra said Texas and three other states were being put on a list of states that had adopted laws seen by Becerra as discriminatory to the LGBT community and therefore were off-limits for state-sponsored travel.

That drew a response Friday from John Wittman, Abbott’s press secretary.

"California may be able to stop their state employees, but they can't stop all the businesses that are fleeing over taxation and regulation and relocating to Texas,” Wittman said.

A spokesman for Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin also criticized California officials.

“It is fascinating that the very same West Coast liberals who rail against the President’s executive order, that protects our nation from foreign terrorists, have now contrived their own travel ban aimed at punishing states who don’t fall in lockstep with their far-left political ideology,” said Woody Maglinger, Bevin’s press secretary.

What’s the bad side? Keeps CA government leftists away from Texas. I’m reading about Chicago wanting to share its illegals and other welfare parasites with other states and cities, I’m just praying that they like it there too much (so many “freebies”!) to want to go to elsewhere (or at least, not to conservative states and cities). Places which don’t want to be inundated with the parasites fleeing Chicago like cockroaches once the goodies are gone, had better make sure to tighten up on their welfare restrictions.

Hey, this is great!

CA already bans state employee travel to Mississippi.

Who wants CA in their states?

Keep the crazies in CA.

I know what I’m saying.

I’m a native of CA and I live here, but I’m moving back to Mississippi next year.

CA is over-priced. On everything.

“On Thursday, California Atty. Gen. Xavier Becerra said Texas and three other states were being put on a list of states that had adopted laws seen by Becerra as discriminatory to the LGBT community and therefore were off-limits for state-sponsored travel.”

But the california AG was all against Trumps travel ban of citizens from nations that mudered gays for the crime of being gay.

What’s silly here is that California already banned all out-of-state travel by their state employees back in 2011. This act by Jerry Brown was just a bunch of SJW virtue-signaling.

Ultimately, PAC 12 teams won’t play outside their conference.

Then they’ll moan even louder about why don’t they get decent ranked bowl games.

The self-hating white leftists running California are enjoying an interim period of power between the past era of moderate Republican rule and the coming absolute rule by leftist Hispanics. The lefty whites have about 10 years left before the Hispanics show them the door.

Regardless of timing, it’s a doomed place, headed full speed into the third-world trash heap.

Even more interesting when you consider that the state is governed by Obamacrats, inhabited by Obamacrats and are the premium purveyors of double standards. Is it any wonder that their party is such a disaster?

I would ban TX state travel to CA and other similar states (NY, MA, NJ etc) which do not respect the 2A and other constitutional rights.

It's time for California to revert to territory status. It is unable to govern itself. Its citizens should be denied the vote. The Federal Government should take over the direct governing of California. All illegal aliens should be deported promptly.

If and when California becomes capable of self-government, it could reapply for statehood.
