Rep. Steve Scalise, who was shot in the hip June 14 when a gunman opened fire at a baseball practice of Republican lawmakers in Virginia, has been readmitted to the intensive care unit in serious condition at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, the hospital announced Wednesday night.

My non medical but very experienced opinion is he’s gimme septic. Very bad news

Heartbreaking. He was out of ICU and beginning rehab, but still was unable to eat (undoubtedly getting nutrition intravenously). That means he’s probably lost weight and is in a weakened state even though he had been healing. Now this infection. So worried for him and praying that he has the strength to continue fighting. I’m not one to pray in a public forum like this, but this is a special case. So dearest Lord, please give this fine and brave man the strength to make a full recovery. Save him, Lord, please.
Yes a few hours ago there was a report that was up moving around and doing better. The infection must have hit very quickly.

If he did have a serious intestinal wound that is a horrible thing to treat.
You have to exteriorize the intestines and repeatedly wash everything....a real horror show!
After you get all as clean as possible and make the repairs on the intestine you have to use your nose to try and find any leak (Yup, it’s gross)
Wash, suction, wash, suction, repair....sniff sniff sniff.
Most likely even in the “best case” scenario he will be crippled for life after taking a rifle bullet to the hip.

My uncle passed from this in a VA hospital last year. Once that infection takes a strong hold it is over. Prayers for the Congressman.
Just want to add a further prayer...dearest Lord, please don’t let the left claim yet another life. Marxism and all its derivative “isms” has been responsible for the deaths of uncounted millions of innocents. When is enough, enough?
