People crossing borders is scary considering how Africans are flooding Europe.

Venezuelans can end up flooding the USA is what I sense meaning the President of the United States should indeed be looking at options to deal with the communistic rule there that is causing and will cause worse situations with people crossing borders if it continues.

Perhaps, but not our place. Where do you stop? American interests are NOT directly threatened now. They were when the companies were stolen.

I really wish there was a way to do that. The spoiled, ignorant brats would get a real education. Most importantly, their professors must go as well.

Been watching the situation in Venezuela very closely for years.

The opposition uses non-violent pressure and the regime uses targeted arrests and tear gas, beatings etc. to get its way.

The government controlled police and thugs called “collectives” do the dirty work.

The army has been off to the side but with Cuban advisors and political indoctrination in its ranks. Officers reassigned and retired etc. etc.

One of the three questions in the referendum last Sunday involved asking the Venezuelan army to defend democracy.

I would rather see the Venezuelan people and or military nudged towards action on their own than USA military intervention.

As long as Venezuela keeps its ideology within its borders - then I am more than happy to have a live-run example of socialist chaos, death and destruction for the whole world to view, real-time.

In fact, the world seems to need a constant reminder of the evils of socialism.

Communists are like roaches. Once they get in, there is only one way to get rid of them.

The destruction and terror Obama unleashed on the Middle East was just a distraction from his turning over Central and South America to the Chinese.

Venezuela cannot be allowed to become another North Korea for China.

I have to agree with you. Why should we do a thing to help them? I mean, it may have been one thing to embrace socialism in Russia in 1917, or Cuba in 1959. But by 1998, there was plenty of empirical evidence to suggest that going down that road was, perhaps, not the smartest idea. Socialism is like a whore. Looks good from a distance, but you certainly don’t want to marry it. Let them unwind it. Cautionary tales are important. Although, try telling any of this to a Bernie Sanders supporter.

Me too. I was on a special detail there in 90. We could have a permanent ally, walk back Marxism in the hemisphere, gain a lot of good will for a long time to come, rid the Cubans and Iranians from VE, and position ourselves to throw AQ out of South America if we act decisively. Perhaps even shut down Chinese influence that keeps sprouting up. It’s worth 2 divisions. The US needs a victory.

With Grenada in 1983 it was nearby island nations asking the USA for intervention.

Brazil and Columbia perhaps could ask for help to control their borders or something like that?

Perhaps limited use of airpower like in the Philippines when they tried to overthrow Aquino back in the 1980’s. The USAF from Clark AFB kept the coup aircraft attacking the presidential palace grounded.

I still would like the people in Venezuela to come out and change the situation by their own hands and maybe with their own weapons, some defecting military units etc. etc.

Actually their fellow South American countries are being pretty supportive.

At home, we couldn’t get by': more Venezuelans flee as crisis deepens

I’m sick to death of this country thinking we can save the world from all their bad decisions while our country is in flames with the abject corruption of our leaders and the “deep state”. The other thing that pisses me off is this war economy we are building where the industrial war machine is becoming such a big part of the money flow that if we try to wean off of it dire reverberations may occur.

Trump needs to get on top of our government and show us a crack of light here and concentrate on the U.S. for the next 15 minutes. He promised less intervention, now let’s see it. Get Hillary, Podesta, Rice, and Lynch in a crack and start working them over. These people set this country of fire, now act like a fireman. I’m still holding out hope but my patience is running thin.

Fly in machine guns and ammo, air drop it into the country side first, then the suburbs.

“Two divisions. One Marine, and the 82nd. One carrier battle group. Two months and a new democracy is born, a message sent to Cuba, and Iranian influence erased from South America.”

F*** that. No more nation building. Kill his ass and leave.

Wish them the very best of luck.

“Communists are like roaches. Once they get in, there is only one way to get rid of them. “

We should simply arm the people who are opposed to Maduro.

I spend a lot of time in Colombia and the estimates are about 500,000 Venezuelans in Bogota alone. I’ve met many and most are from the former middle class. They wont be coming to the US. In S Florida the are many but most are US citizens.....that turned out heavily for Trump.
