So glad you got some nice rain...and I hope it went far enough to help the active fire.

Thank you Kathy!
I did, went in to my shop and took my time fabricating an important piece for my new Seabees mixer.

Howdy there, PRO!

Sounds like you played it smart - - get errands done early and stay inside the rest of the day. No fun getting out in the blasting heat.

It’s FINALLY cooler in the house but has only been that way a little over an hour. Hubby remembered there was an A/C unit upstairs and dug it out late this afternoon and we got it set up just after 8 p.m. We prayed the whole time there was still Freon in it because we have no idea how old it is. I’ve been here 18 and a half years and it was upstairs before I moved here.
Thankfully it works and now that this huge room has cooled off, the other two A/Cs are beginning to work much better.

I’m glad he thought of it. The cats were all stressing badly in the heat, especially the kittens. It got up to almost 90 degrees at my desk this afternoon!
They’re starting to move around now so I guess they’re all ok.

Considering they changed the forecast and it’s going to be hot, hot, hot all the next week, the timing was good.

Howdy, LUV!

WOOHOO!!! There was a nice pip and a large crack when I last checked this afternoon. That was about 6 a.m. their time.

I hope this lil darling has a nest mate, unlike poor Peaglet last year. It’s sad watching them grow up alone. They need company while the parents are off hunting for food.

I hope both of them live, too, and that they are born close together so the bopping won’t be quite so vicious. It’s winter there and can get pretty brutal, so I guess their health depends on the weather a lot!

Did you have a good Saturday? I sure did...except it started thundering just as I tried to doze for a nap, and I couldn’t sleep. LOL!

Howdy do, Conor. *HUGZ*

Is progress on the renovations starting to reach the “OOOO and AAAAHH!” point yet? Going to kick back and relax tomorrow after such a busy week?

Yeah, they keep mentioning how cold it is there right now. I noticed Lady’s feathers were fluffed against the cold early this morning. I hope it doesn’t hinder hunting for food for the behbehs.

It’s a good evening now after a horrible day. It got waaaaaay too hot in here before Hubby remembered we had an A/C unit upstairs that had never been used. It’s in use now! And the house is comfortable again. WHEW!!

Thunder?? Did you get any rain with it or just racket? They SAY we could get some rain tomorrow and we need it badly.

We did get about 3/10ths “! Not super but good nonetheless!

I’m SO glad he remembered that unit! I’m sure it makes all the difference...and didn’t cost any more! Win/win!

Good evening, Pro, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.

Hope you had a nice relaxing day.

Another really HOT day here. I’ve got the sprinkler going now. Then move, and move again, and then again.

Good evening, radu, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.

It’s hot today....and I’m in the process of dragging the sprinkler around the yard.

Is the corn doing well? Getting tall?

Hey, you’re in the desert. 3/10ths is plenty good. LOL! We’d be happy to get that much right now.

I had no idea that unit was upstairs and we didn’t know if it would work. It’s been up there longer than I’ve lived here.

The room I spend time in and my desk is in was built to connect the original house to a Jim Walter Home that was bought to expand the place. It’s huge and had no A/C all these years. Where the two A/C units were, it was hard to get any cool air in here and it’s always been pretty warm during summer. It was unbearable this week and it just about killed the two units. Heat from this room was pouring into the other areas.
The “new” unit is in here and now the temp is balancing out throughout the house. The other two units are cooling nicely again and not working so hard.

Wish he’d remembered that thing long ago!

Outta here for a bit. I need to run to Wal Mart litter and a few other things. Rather do it now than tomorrow when it’ll be super hot again. Be back shortly.

See ya when you return! Know how you LOVE to shop! LOL!

I’m just glad he remembered! The heat was really getting to everyone. Have the kittehs picked up their energy? :)

Howdy, Kathy.

Hot up there, too, is it? Bummer you need to water the lawn already.

The corn has been doing quite well so far though it could use a good drink. The ears are almost ripe and about ready to start tilting down. When they do that, they’re done and the stalks will start turning brown and ugly. But as fat as the ears are, it’ll be a great yield and that makes the brown and ugly bearable. :-)
