Nice theory but I don’t believe the uranium in question((Hammond) is actively being mined and you don’t just whip up highly refined uranium in the kitchen.

Concur. My guess would be that the US seized that uranium, from a larger amount, and was returning it as evidence so that Russia could prosecute their end of a trafficking conspiracy.

I can see both sides of this issue. On the surface it appears nothing. However . . . The first question that comes to mind . . .

Why the Director of the FBI? This is an International matter. FBI would not be involved.

Second question. As the email state, this matter was of great importance. Yet, because of a conflict of schedule, the exchange was delayed 6 months. That makes no sense. Specially if a legitimate investigation was taking place.

The appearance makes this matter of extreme interest.
