Its hard to say that Gun Safety is inappropriate for High Schoolers when half the kids have been actively using guns since they were seven.
Would the Wisc. ‘Rats be down with thug/drug dealer/hooligan gun training?
Are these the same people who laugh at abstinence programs? If so, they should make up their minds. Either keeping kids in the dark works or it doesn’t. But, it doesn’t work for guns if it doesn’t work for sex.
How-to classes in anal sex is what the ‘Rats want.
Idiots.
I have been shooting since I was 7 years old under the supervision of my grandfather. At 13 I was allowed to keep a 410 shotgun and a 22 bolt action rifle in my room with ammunition. I had past my grandfather’s tests of responsibility.
I today am 69 years old with many firearms as I am a collector of fine weapons and an active shooter. I shoot every weapon I have with the exception of one that is so old I am afraid it would blow up. It is quite valuable and very old.
I have never used a firearm in an illegal manner.
Circa 1966 Lockport, Louisiana High School, often we would go hunting after school. The weapons were in our trucks. The principal knew and the cops knew. They knew because they could see the shotguns in the gun racks in the back window of our trucks. This was normal. The concept of using these weapons in an illegal manner was foreign to our thought processes.
If this were today there would be a Swat Squad at the High School.
Sadly times have changed!
But smoking safety and LBGT classes don’t?
In Colorado in the early 80s, Hunter Safety Education (including firing multiple weapons on the football field) was required in the 8th grade before moving on to high school, at least in my school district.
I stopped there. Been to Madison, twice. Beautiful city, ugly government.
There are several high school trap shooting teams in MN. A student has to have already passed firearms training to try out for the team. Most kids do that by age 12.
I started my kids shooting and hunting when they were 5 and 6 years old.
Son at 5 because he was already a pretty big kid, daughter at 6 because she was smaller.
They both got their first shotguns on Christmas morning 1988.
Neither one of them has ever used a firearm in an inappropriate or illegal manner.
They both had to go through and pass (no help from dad) the NRA Hunter and Shooter Safety course before being allowed to get their first Hunting License.
We have had a lot of good hunts (even on the days we were skunked) since then, I look forward to many more before I cash in.
Wow I just had my son in two weeks worth of target shooting/gun safety and he’s 12.
I went to public school in Wisconsin. In 1971, I took Hunter Safety in school. Brought a rifle on the bus, kept it in my locker.
This would be discouraged now.
When I was in junior high on the early 70’s my bedroom contained numerous guns and plenty of ammunition. I never even thought about chambering a round in the house.
So gun safety is inappropriate for high schoolers yet they teach grade schoolers how to put a rubber on a banana. Now I understand...
I bet these same people have no problem with the Teen Vogue article on enjoying anal sex.
A nation of nannies raising a generation of ninnies.
In public schools, they can teach about the values of Islamism and not Christianity, but they can’t teach kids the right way to handle themselves around a weapon so they have a safer and better understanding of the tool. The largest single killer in the US is the roadways. Does this mean drivers education is next?

They’re against gun safety? Well well whadda know?! Maybe this is part of the reason the big cities they control are so dangerous.. I think gun safety and basic marksmanship should begin in about the third or fourth grade. By the time the kids reach high school they’re already in gangs anyway. ( same theory as “sex Ed.” - to help the kids prepare for adult life)
Sadly times have changed!
Oswald used a 4X scope to “undo” the Kennedy Admin.
The “Conspiritorialists” would have you believe that this was an impossible undertaking.
Any 13 year old, properly trained, could have done this - WITHOUT - the scope...
You are right exactly.
They should not have a gun safety course in high school, but in elementary school in 1st grade.
