Yes, “Allahu Akhbar” should be immediate ‘fighting words’ anywhere.
I wonder if he would still be laughing after being gunned down?
Hey....Luigi! Go get em. ...Fugetaboutit.
Allahu.....SPLAT! how do you like me now?
Tourism is the motivating factor. I know people who have made multiple vacation visits to this “romantic destination” It’s a swamp to me.
Just when,I thought, that Western Europeans were starting to get it, the Mayor of Venice apologizes about his comment about radical Islam?..He should have popped that other metro sexual Italian mayor right in his pie hole!!...When are people of Wesrtern culture going to wake up?????
WOOOOOOO
you go Mayor
:)
sounds like a solution
No it was another mayor the lefty one from Florence who apologized...
he had run up to the Mayor of Venice yelling Lulu’s Snackbar...he is a jerk...
Too bad it’s not Venice CA...
Damn. I was hoping it was Venice California...
My family was going to visit Italy next year.
We will not be going to Florence, as it is under the control of those who seek to destroy us.
It is not safe. I advise every one to eschew Florence.
Tourists in a boat in Venice: “What was that the boat just hit? An iceberg?” Reply: “No! It was one of those guys who hollered ‘meet you at the snack bar’”!
Note to Italy: You have a Navy. Why won’t you use it, hmmmm?
It’s important to remember that Italy was originally very divided into city-states, each of which had very clear territories, and developed very different personalities, like different nations.
And it took over a hundred years (1815-1919) for Italy to finally become unified. And much of that was violent and revolutionary.
So even today, the major regions of Italy still have a lot of different character and behavior.
The Republic of Venice existed for a millennium between the 8th century and the 18th century. It was based in the lagoon communities of the historically prosperous city of Venice, and was a leading European economic and trading power during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
The Venetian city state was founded as a safe haven for the people escaping persecution in mainland Europe after the decline of the Roman Empire. The city became home to an extremely wealthy merchant class, who patronized renowned art and architecture along the city’s lagoons. Venetian merchants were influential financiers in Europe.
The republic was ruled by the Doge, who was elected by members of the Great Council of Venice, the city-state’s parliament. The ruling class was an oligarchy of merchants and aristocrats. Venice and other Italian maritime republics played a key role in fostering capitalism. Venetian citizens generally supported the system of governance. The city-state enforced strict laws and employed ruthless tactics in its prisons.
So, as has been noted, there are some pretty strong parallels between the Republic of Venice and the United States.
Good for Luigi and Venice! But what if someone yells, “Aloha Snackbar!”
well said mayor...
to that, his political opponent asked him to speak up... he didn’t hear that last part.
Sounds like an interesting hypothesis. Write up a short proposal and submit. I'm sure if glowBull warming were worked into it, you'd get a grant fairly quickly.
Even though funds are limited, a sample size of one (N=1) will still be sufficient for this experiment.
Too bad the mayor can’t have his snipers shoot anyone who even thinks it!
