The case for a special counsel to investigate Hillary Clinton
The New York Post ^ | September 2, 2017 | Michael Goodwin

Posted on 09/03/2017 9:44:52 PM PDT by TBP

But the Clinton e-mail scandal, like Clinton herself, won’t go away. It remains a blot on the legacy of the Obama administration, the Justice Department and the FBI, and now comes fresh evidence that the investigation that cleared her was a total sham.

The revelation from the Senate Judiciary Committee that J. Edgar Comey drafted his statement exonerating her about two months before FBI agents interviewed Clinton or 16 other witnesses confirms suspicions that the probe was neither honest nor thorough. When the outcome is decided long before the investigation is over, the result can’t be trusted.

There is only one possible cure for this kind of rot — a special counsel charged with reopening the Clinton e-mail case and the actions of Comey and Attorney General Loretta Lynch.

Two dozen House Republicans demanded a special counsel in July, and the chorus is certain to grow because of testimony showing Comey made his decision long before the probe ended.

It is a reflection of the peculiarities of last year’s campaign that a special counsel on Clinton would be the ultimate in fair play. Because the FBI investigated both Clinton and Trump during the election, a special counsel for Clinton would perfectly complement Mueller’s probe of Trump. Presumably, an equal number of leaks will be part of the deal.

Think of it as a sequel to 2016. And maybe someday America will learn what it did to deserve an election that refuses to get off the stage.

take comet’s report and indict her on his conclusion she was “extremely careless” handling classified information. Then investigate the foundation and the uranium sale. That will send both of them to prison until they die.

For the "good" of the country, we can't let Hillary go down.

Hussein Obama was using an alias for his communications with Hillary. That proves Hussein KNEW Hillary was breaking the law which makes him just as guilty as Huma in the mishandling of classified information.

Might work if they actually had someone running it who was not a crooked player.

Yet Most of the important witnesses involved in the crime already have immunity.

That was integral to the coverup of Hillary's multiple criminal acts. Grant immunity to all so they do not testify against her. Straight out of "Coverup 101."

If they were not granted immunity they would have talked or gone to jail.

Comey is a criminal worse than Hillary. His actions encourage criminality. He is just plain damn pond scum.

It should be a short investigation.
Comey already proclaimed her guilt and skated her because of no intent which is not in the statute.

Find out who had the authority to appoint a special counsel to investigate President Donald J. Trump and you will have the answer.

If it can be shown that the immunity deals were intended to thwart further investigations, I’m thinking that they could possibly be challenged in court. I’m sure that there are.a number of conditions attached to them. Failure to meet those conditions could be grounds for invalidating them.

I've heard that hemp, nail-studded baseball bats & guillotines are great cures for this kind of rot...

So, that's more than one possible cure...

They could appoint Ken Star to look into it.

He did such a swell job last time.

All kidding aside, the mention of a special council is grounds for levity, and nothing serious.

It’s called kicking the can on down the road.

Trump might just as well shutter the Justice Department for his first term. Sessions evidently isn’t up to the task. Why waste the money on offices and staff.

What a revolting situation.

A Special Counsel or Special Prosecutor is not required in Hillary's case. She is no longer a Senator, Cabinet Secretary, or in power.

In the United States, a special prosecutor (or special counsel or independent counsel) is a lawyer appointed to investigate, and potentially prosecute, a particular case of suspected wrongdoing for which a conflict of interest exists for the usual prosecuting authority. Other jurisdictions have similar systems. For example, the investigation of an allegation against a sitting president or attorney-general might be handled by a special prosecutor rather than by an ordinary prosecutor who would be in the position of investigating his or her own superior. Investigations into other persons connected to the government but not in a position of direct authority over the prosecutor, such as cabinet secretaries or election campaigns, have also been handled by special prosecutors.

All that is required is for the Attorney General, who is the Chief Law Enforcement Officer of the United States, to proceed. Sessions needs no approval from Congress, no special law passed, no House Committee vote, no approval from the Senate, no special funding - nothing.

But Sessions won't act, because his name is now Jeff Feckless.

Even President Trump has attempted (as far as he can lean forward on this) to get Feckless to act, to no avail.

Donald Trump Pressures 'Weak' Jeff Sessions to Investigate 'Hillary Clinton Crimes'

What happened to Feckless? There are many who believe he has been blackmailed by the Deep State. That could be the case. He is a sinner like all of us. Perhaps Obama's goons had video or photographic evidence of an extramarital affair, a pornography addiction, a financial crime....something.

Or, it may be the case that Feckless is simply a coward.

It also could be a combination of the two factors.

In any case, Feckless is a disgrace. I used to simply be frustrated with him; now I have contempt for the man.

His apologists here on FR throw out unicorns and chocolate rainbows of "hope", saying that maybe (just maybe!), Jeff Feckless is conducting Double Secret Investigations, and someday - Feckless will disclose his magnificent plan to expose and prosecute the Evildoers in our nation. And also, the Sun Will Come Out, Tomorrow, Bet Your Bottom Dollar That Tomorrow.....There'll Be Sun!

Sorry, but I choose to live in the real world. Jeff Feckless is effectively working for the enemy. May God forgive him.
