Hurricane Irma’s path flattens, strengthens to 120 mph
Palm Beach Post ^ | September 4, 2017 | Sonja Isger

That curve to the north – and eventually out into the Atlantic – that everyone in South Florida was hoping to see Hurricane Irma take isn’t happening as quickly as earlier models had predicted. The National Hurricane Center’s 8 a.m. update Monday drives the storm’s path in a flatter, westbound path that puts it closer Cuba’s shores by early Saturday morning.

The scary part now is that there is a chance that Irma make a direct hit in the Miami, FL area. And that will make Miami Beach extremely vulnerable to wind and flooding damage.

By aiming at Cuba’s north shore, Irma’s gonna impact the Florida Keys!

I’m not poo pooing this but on all forecasts, including accuweather, whom i respect the most, know they WANT the storm to hit, so there is that bias...also as storms strengthen, they nearly always weaken in last 100 miles due to outer bands hitting barrier islands.

Florida relies on Cuba’s mountainous east to limit hurricane damage to Florida—and The Keys. The City of Key West (especially) ought to get moving!

I’m watching this one CLOSE! I have interests in the FL panhandle and it is looking like the models that I trust has it scatting up the west coast of FL to the northern big bend area.

Highly unlikely US does not get hit by Irma Most likely US target FLA. after southern Bahamas, perhaps Cuba. PR/VI escape worst

If it gets into the Gulf there’s a good chance of Houston getting hit again. Or at least East of Houston. According to Hanniity’s man, Bastardi, the waters in NW Gulf are very warm and he’d been warning about Harvey doing exactly what Harvey did. In fact, he was the only one to predict it would hit Rockport. I haven’t heard his prediction on Irma.

I have never in my lifetime experienced so much mainstream media and weather sources HOPING a big hurricane will strike at some shore of the United States, as if that would be a good rebuke to a president Liberals don’t like and Marxists hate.

The election derangement syndrome has metastasized into a viral cancer.

If it takes that path up Florida the property casualty industry gets wiped out.

...Joe is the man...it still will lose some strength right before...we should be thankful for that. Hopefully they are wrong. Pray.

If it takes that path up Florida the property casualty industry gets wiped out.

Only the folks with food insurance, which hardly anybody has. There might be some wind damage claims, but most of the destruction is from ocean surges.

The industry will find every way not to pay, believe me.
