I just plotted that out... it's
real subtle. I've plotted it out, now and it's practically a straight line.
Basically, watch what the latitude is when it gets to about 76°W lon (roughly mid-late Friday)... if the latitude is at or above 22.5°, then the turn is starting. If 22.3° or less, then no turn yet.
Right now the NHC seems to think it won't start happening until roughly 78°W (on Saturday).

Shelter Map For Polk County (Central Florida)
Note: As of right now, none are open that I'm aware of. There are contact numbers on the map to see which shelters are open and there will be limited space in special need and pet friendly shelters.
Not all public shelters are automatically activated for each emergency. They are opened as needed and are not pre-assigned by geographic area. During an emergency please monitor Polk County Government Television, other local television and radio stations for open shelter information. Have your 72-hour survival kit ready to take with you. Weapons and alcoholic beverages are not allowed at any public shelter.
Again, do not proceed to a shelter in Polk County until you are sure it is activated.

Well, east-west barrier islands are migrating westward, and north-south barrier islands are migrating southward, but at least we know where all that sand is going now, Cape Point on Hatteras. How big is Shelly Island now?

A mile, so they say.
But that ocean sand can be pushed around pretty easily by Mother Nature.

Jose may affect the Leewards some, but all indications are it will remain a big fish storm.

Last I read the water between island and Cape Point is filling in to knee deep. Soon it will become and extension of the Cape.

well, the wind switched direction to the ne, i set my main anchor and put out 200 feet, then set my secondary anchor on 150 feet 90 degrees from the main both anchors are bruce anchors 33lb and 22lb respectively. i put a 3rd anchor on 200 feet directly in front this third anchor is a 25lb danforth - i then fired up the diesel put her in reverse at 1000 rpm and lunch and let everything settle - i’m not worried about dragging but we all knowcthere is more to it than that
