Gotta love all the smug comments crapping on Texans.
Makes no sense.
The guy is addled.
>>when youre standing in toxic floodwater.
They aren’t standing. They are moving and working. Maher’s socialists are the mooches who stand around waiting for someone else to help them.
I would also add that vast, vast amounts of the help going to the flood zones is coming from private sources, private money and private citizens giving of their time and resources.
Seems to me periodic assistance for disaster relief provided by government such as under current circumstances is precisely what government is for Socialism be damned.
Suddenly, capitalism is not so bad when you get paid millions more per year than the studio janitor.
This guy’s mind, what passes for one, certainly doesn’t access logic very often.
Where does he think the money comes from?
It initially comes from people striving to make a profit. They succeed and are taxed. People who work for them are paid a competitive rate and are taxed.
If these didn’t make a profit, or get paid a competitive rate, the government wouldn’t have as much money.
In a socialist/communist state, the amount of GDP is severely impacted lower.
Those people in Texas/Florida, aren’t happy because socialism is there to help. They are happy to live in a nation where capitalist systems drive a thriving money machine, part of which funds disaster relief.
It also funds insurance companies that exist in a capitalist environment, and pay out to people who own policies and experience a loss.
Maher, Capitalism, not Socialism is the savior here you dolt.
Paraphrasing Bill to make your point:
“Suddenly, capitalism doesn’t seem so bad when you still have money in your pocket to help out flood victims after watching government bureaucrats mismanage your taxes.”
Exactly. Disaster assistance has nothing to do with socialism in the first place.
For a guy who poses as a brainac, Maher sure comes across as being just plain stupid.
Sad to be ugly AND stupid.
Let’s see who recovers faster....the US or Cuba.
The best part is everyone is equally standing in Toxic water so the politicians don’t have to do anything.
Did he mention President Trump donated one million dollars?
Texans pay the same federal tax as anyone else. So I’m not sure what is his point.
They don’t pay state income tax, but their property taxes are higher to compensate. So, again, what is his point?
Gross.
