What would be “unfair” would be stealing all of that money from Texans without their consent (taxation,) and then refusing to provide the services you claim the taxes are supposed to the payment for.
Suddenly, Bill Maher reveals that he is still an idiot.

Disaster relief IS ONE OF THE THING THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD DO... not the millions of other stupid things that socialism would take over to do.
I attended a show of his in Hollywood. Sarah Palin (I believe) was going to be on, and we wanted to support her.
In my seat in the audience, I made it appear I was resting my chin on my hand, but what I was doing is signalling with a “W”. Made it out of three fingers. At the time Bush was going through a rough spot, and I wanted to show support for him. He’s all we had at the time.
Watching the show later, I did show up and the “W” did show clearly.
Maher is a jerk.
When I first became aware of him, he was nothing like what he turned into. His anti Christian vent is disgusting, and his general demeanor and attitude is just vile.

Plus, capitalistic people have enough money and resources to fund private relief efforts. Loving capitalist grandly help not only people in disasters in this country, but they help people in disasters all over the world. So many people in the world have been helped during disasters by loving capitalist that I dare say, what would become of them without capitalist?
Also, it is capitalist that have come up with, through capitalistic innovation, many inventions and methods that help people who are in trouble due to disasters. Loving capitalist are the heroes of the world!
Socialist countries couldn’t afford to help its citizens in similar disasters. Socialism is a failure every time it is tried. The leftists always think THEIR version of socialism will work - it won’t and it can’t.

Guys like Maher fail to think of all these folks. It’s not that they mind their money going to help others, they just don’t think the government knows how to spend money better than they do. That’s a very accurate belief too > IMO.
We are the number one nation in donations around the world. Not only does our government disburse our funds, but we as individuals do as well.
We believe in giving, and if Maher and others know how much private money makes it’s way into Africa, they would shut the heck up about racism.

No. Socialism is never good. States should pay for damages to state property. And they should rescue people in danger and do what they can to avoid looting. Beyond that, if the affected states want to tax everybody to give tax-funded handouts to people in the storm’s path, that is up to each state. Let the voters there decide during the next election if they agree.
But, no federal money should be spent on disaster relief of any kind. Voluntary donations from Americans should, of course be solicited and people across the country should dig deep. But it is ALWAYS immoral to take money from people by force and just hand it to other people. Always.

Maybe he should stick his hideous face into some research to see which countries fare better after disasters, capitalist ones or communist ones?? How would Venezuela fare with a Cat 5? How would NK??
