In the 1930’s, it was estimated that about 40% of CPUSA members came from Jewish families — but they were not observant Jews.

My point (which apparently escaped you — so I will repeat it) is simply this:

I was originally asked “Why are so many Jews ‘leftists’?

The clear implication of the term “so many” is that there is some baseline percentage which might be considered “normal” or unremarkable but that baseline has been vastly exceeded and, consequently, someone should explain why that is the case.

I then responded by pointing out that a MUCH larger percentage (as well as a much larger absolute number) of white Protestant Christians were members of white supremacist organizations in our country.

There have been various permutations of the Ku Klux Klan around our country (and, at one time, those groups had millions of members and sympathizers). In addition, the Klan was listed on the Attorney General’s List of Subversive Organizations).

There have been literally hundreds of other white supremacist organizations — some of which were national, others just limited to one state or one area. A few examples:

* Americans For the Preservation of the White Race
* National Association for Advancement of White People
* White Citizens Councils
* American Nazi Party (later known as National Socialist White People’s Party and The New Order)
* The Columbians
* National Patrick Henry Organization, Inc.
* National States Rights Party
* Nationalist White Party

* Christian Party of America
* Christian Nationalist Crusade
* Christian Anti-Jewish Party

In addition, oftentimes, KKK groups were disguised by using other names — sometimes as “gun clubs” or “states rights” groups.

So——IF the principle we are supposed to focus upon and be concerned about is ANY seemingly unusual percentage of one religious background becoming exceedingly influential or even predominant within our country’s organizations, occupations, professions, political parties, or our institutions -—— then, presumably, the vastly higher percentage of white supremacists within subversive or racist or political extremist organizations deserves to be explained -— doesn’t it?

Anti pluralism......Jews often with justification fear the host in whatever culture they inhabit and frequently work against the predominate culture as an inoculation from political power attacking them but ironically that makes them targets as well

2. I am not here to “expose anti-semites”. I am responding to bizarre and often fallacious “reasoning” presented by other people.

4. I am not particularly interested in your personal anecdotes. Everybody “knows somebody” who can then be used to “prove” some point or another. I prefer actual historical scholarship.

5. The great philosopher of science (Karl Popper) pointed out that in the universe of all available data, everyone can find “confirmations” for whatever they want to believe. However, truth and reality are NOT based solely upon “confirmations”. Instead, truth and reality are based upon our ability to falsify inconvenient data.

This should be a self-evident principle if you think of this principle like a jury trial.

(a) The prosecution may present ONLY that evidence which seems to confirm that wardaddy committed a crime.
(b) However, the jury is entitled to know about exculpatory factual evidence — not just the inculpatory evidence.
(c) When a jury is presented with all relevant information, it then can make a fact-based conclusion.

YOUR problem is that you want to EXCLUDE anything which contradicts what you prefer to believe — and especially anything which does not conform to your personal political preferences.

During my research into FBI investigative files over the past 35+ years, I have found considerable information which caused me to change my former opinions about all sorts of matters.

This is especially true with respect to what I was able to learn after reviewing what transpired during closed, secret meetings of the Communist Party’s National Executive Committee AND from my review of training materials prepared for FBI Special Agents (i.e. monographs about scores of different subject matters).

Briefly: for the record

1. My previous comment about the percentage (and absolute number) of white Protestant Christians who became members and leaders within white supremacist organizations was never merely my “assertion”.

2. Instead, I am relying upon hundreds of FBI files I have obtained through FOIA requests about the persons who created those organizations and who became members and leaders within those organizations. Many of those FBI files contain very detailed biographical information about the individuals involved.

3. In addition, the literature published or recommended by white supremacist organizations (i.e. their newsletters and their pamphlets and other material which they sold) and even their incorporation documents and bylaws make it indisputable what type of persons they wanted as members and supporters.

4. If we accept the principle that we should be concerned about ANY movement or ANY organization in our country’s history which appeals to, OR is predominantly composed of, some specific demographic group (i.e. a specific race or religion, or which explicitly excludes certain entire categories of human beings-—such as women, blacks, asians, Hispanics, Catholics, Jews, etc.) — THEN why should we single out for discussion (or concern) the one group which has the LEAST numbers or percentage?

5. In other words, why not focus our attention and concern upon whatever group or movement contains the greatest number of persons associated as members and supporters and endorsers if we think that they have some noxious influence upon our national life?

6. In THAT context, when I was originally asked, “Why are so many Jews leftists?” — I responded by asking why we should focus upon Jews? What is the underlying reason for singling them out for our exclusive attention?
