The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says December-February in California will be a winter with equal chances of normal, below normal and above normal rain.

Nice gig if you can get it. Even better than consultants who borrow your watch, tell you what time it is, and send you the bill for their service.

Kings will Freeze to Death in their Castles, same as the peasants in their huts.

The White Walkers with their dead horses, packs of pale spiders big as HOUNDS!

“About the only thing meteorologists interviewed agree on was that the state is getting warmer. Climate change, involving the trapping of heat from the burning of fossil fuels, has raised the average winter temperature in the state 2.5 degrees over the last 100 years, Putzert said.”

I have not the data that supposedly supports the above statement, but the statement itself with the rather outlandish claims on 2.5 degree rise (izzat C or F there, sport?) raises all sorts of red flags for this math/physics educated guy.

Right now, my bet is on large percentages of bull Obama, coupled with the standard journalist’s total inability to comprehend even the most elementary science.

I predict that California will either freeze, burn, will be buried under mudslides and avalanches, or be covered in a blanket of smog.

You know, the usual.

“equal chances of normal, below normal and above normal rain”? Now, that IS some fancy science talk there.

Personally, there are more, and hotter, heat waves now in SoCal than when I was a kid, and FAR less rain in the winters. I remember Novembers and Februarys with two or more solid weeks of pouring rain.

The state is definitely warming and drying. But it’s not because of fossil fuels.

And if we had saved any of the great snowpack water from last year, it might have been smart. But no, we need to focus on giving money, goods and services to illegals.

“The snowpack.....leaves earlier.”

Not this year.

They were skiing in California in July.

“equal chances of normal, below normal and above normal rain”

For the sake of those living below the Oroville Dam, I hope it’s below normal. The CA DWR will need at least two years if not longer to fix the mess their apparent negligence and malfeasance has created.

BTW, ongoing thread with 4K+ comments so far since last February on this issue that isn’t going away any time soon.

Commendations especially to EarthResearcher333 who might have compiled more data and analysis on this than maybe anyone else anywhere. The University of FR rolls on.

For this coming winter, however, with no El Niño in sight, he’s making a not-so-bold prediction: It’s going to be either wet or dry.

Women and minorities hardest hit again? 😀😆😄

Wait’ these are the same people who can tell me the temp will raise X number of degrees in 100 years but can’t tell us what the upcoming winter will be wet or dry?

Why aren’t they hiding her heads in shame?

2.5 degrees in a century. That's 0.025 degrees in a year. Twenty-five thousandths of a degree. And they're worried about this winter? How would anyone even know the difference?

This is beyond stupid, it's stubborn stupid. The weather will change, to be sure. The climate? Call me in 100 years.

Boy, the useful idiots eat this stuff up. If you can’t predict the weather for next season,or for the next few days, how in the world can you predict 50 years from now. The answer is you can’t.

‘Winter is coming’: What do climate scientists predict for California?”

Sugar and spice and everything nice? With rubbers, of course.

Increasing darkness late in the day, followed by a period of increasing light in the morning.

Increasing coldness in the winter and increasing warmth in the spring.

Oh, that’s what they call climate change!!!

" .... flummoxed by the failure of a widely predicted El Niño to make a dent in California’s drought during the winter of 2015-16 ....."

..... They conveniently forgot to mention the record breaking rains that happened the next winter which did end the drought.

How low can they go?
