North Korea sanctions 'nothing compared to what will have to happen': Trump
Reuters ^ | Sept. 12, 2017 | Roberta Rampton, David Brunnstrom

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday the latest U.N. sanctions on North Korea agreed this week were only a very small step and nothing compared to what would have to happen to deal with the country’s nuclear program.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin warned China that if it did not follow through on the new sanctions, the United States would “put additional sanctions on them and prevent them from accessing the U.S. and international dollar system.”

I hope. I know he’s being totally realistic, because almost nothing is going to convince NK to give up a robust nuclear program that already is a success.

The Norks are not the one’s needed to be convinced, it’s the Chinese and the Russians.

Nice capital you’ve got there. It would be a shame if something happened to it.

I think you are right. Hopefully they are realistic. After all, they supported those sanctions in the UN.

Little Kimmy is like that fat kid in the 7th grade that gets his ass beat because he never knows when to quit screwing around.

Opportunity arises. If Trump solves the issue Russia and China will take big time notice. They will the fall in line with us on Iran. There’s something in it for both of them.

China and Russia both telegraphed they aren’t serious about stopping North Korea’s nuclear program.

This basically give us the green light.

No use putting it off now.

Yes, we don’t allow a nuclear weapon to explode on U.S. territory first.

I’ve dealt with Koreans at many levels, military and business, enough to get behind their facade to get to understand that they think differently.

They are an insular people and consider themselves superior to all other peoples. If you are their friend, or useful to them in some way, you can’t do better. If you or those you affiliate have oppressed one of them in any way, they are a permanent enemy, to the death.

They consider fair and honorable, any agreement that can be negotiated today, in the moment. Whatever was agreed to, at whatever cost or value, previously, is irrelevant.

They hate, in this order: Japan, China, and lastly, all Western Powers (equally).

They will never peacefully give up any weapon, nuclear, missiles, or otherwise.

Some years ago, due to blight and crop failure, about 10% of NK starved to death.... They did not complain or beg. In fact, the bags of rice that we gave them, labeled “From America”, they spray painted on another word above in Korean that said “Tribute”.

Our threats are nothing to them.

“You mean we take the first shot?”

No. We launch one of theirs from their soil, programmed to miss of course, and then take out their military ‘in response’. Yes, I know. I’ve seen too many movies.

I know it’s tin foil stuff, but “Unacknowleded” now streaming on Netflix has people saying that von Braun made a death bed confession where he said a black group in the government will ratchet up fear...

First the Russians will be the bad guys.

Then the terrorists.

Then third world crazies (like North Korea).

Finally, they will stage a false flag “alien attack” using stuff we have reverse engineered from crashed extraterrestrial vehicles.

All of it intended to “unite” us, so we accept a one world government.

This all according to von Braun. On his deathbed.

It is likely crap...but a small voice inside me goes “what if it is true?”

So...don’t believe it if we attacked by aliens in the near future!

N Korea has an economy 1/100th that of S. Korea. Which itself is 1/10 that of China. Perhaps the real point of all this is to cut trade with China. Something Trump wants to do, but to use the Norks as the reason.

Seriously, a country as poor as Nkorea can’t project their power in anyway, save for Kim Jong Stupid’s nukes. And really how good are they if he can’t build enough to swarm the ABM systems we have in place. IMHO Trump is looking to cut trade with China: Nkorea is just the scapegoat.

They are an insular people and consider themselves superior to all other peoples.

That is what the Japanese people believed up until the end of WW2 and the introduction of the A-bomb.

These things can be cured but it takes a generational shift

I think China needs to see the light because Trump is serious.....They are responsible for the “gas caps” but haven’t given numbers for years and there’s no way to check if they “restrict” it to current volume. Also, the NORKs manufacture a lot of stuff which is labeled “Made in China” and sent across so China can “export” it. Russia is playing Joker in this deal because China is the main concern with dealing with little Kimmie.

Agreed, the cult-like similarities are there.

The NK peoples do harbor significant but hidden rage against the Kim’s. Most Norks have lost a family member or friend to the purges. If the regime was destabilized and the people had some way to arm themselves it would be a bloodbath like Romania.

That is the reason why the Nork troops are not generally issued ammunition or even weapons.
