There’s a certain irony here.

As they push this Colin Kapernick stuff, taking the side of the liberals and social justice warrior types, they turn off their biggest fans.

The irony is that, while they make the social justice types happy, these liberal snowflake social justice warrior types tend to not be sports fans or football fans.

So they are turning off some of their biggest fans, but they aren’t getting new fans from the social justice warriors whose approval they seek, for unknown reasons.

I think there’s some truth to that.

They think it will go away.

No, the fans will. “:^)

“I’m no media expert, but double digit losses after last year is not a good sign ... “

Disagree, respectfully.

These losses are a very good sign.

Watching at my latitudes is down 100 percent from 2 years ago.

To hell with the NFL!

This weeks games should be off further. I believe many fans gave the NFL an opportunity to get control of its stage last weekend. Since the child-actors still misbehaved, there should be backlash.

I vote for a new low for ESPN sideline announcer Sergio Dipp getting all gushy and gooey about “diversity.” Barf.

I never saw any stats, but wonder, how often do the replay reviews result in overturning a decision on the field?

I’m all for getting the call right, and know sometimes the refs missed it. But I’ve also seen replay reviews where you really couldn’t tell from the replay what happened. Such as, did he have both feet inbounds? Did he break the pane of the goal line? Was it really pass interference; did the cornerback really interfere, or was he going for the pass himself, which is perfectly legal under the rules.

I wonder if we should just agree that replay reviews don’t always settle the issue. And maybe consider doing away with them.

Agree, the constant commercials are killing football. Can’t they understand this?

Most of the U.S. population watches YouTube, Netflix, and Amazon Prime. No commercials! Everyone is sick of commercials.

If the NFL wants to stay around much longer, they better switch to very short commercials. College football is just as bad and will see the effects in a few years if they don’t wise up and shorten commercial times.

The anti-American politics is a factor also. Add politics and long commercials together and you get the NFL on sinking sand.

[Everyone is sick of commercials.]

But you haven’t heard of our deal on Atomic Beam Flashlight!

Or how to refinance your mortgage with Ty Pennington!

How about Marie Osmond and lose weight with $375-a-month food?

For the NFL that’s pretty damaging. I’ll predict that the MLB playoffs and World Series will get higher than average ratings again this year.

>>Damn as in I don’t want the NFL to crash.<<
Well, I used to be a fan, but now find these players to be a reprobate group of social justice warriors. As a whole, they are my ideological foes as much as college professors as a group.
There was a time when the “renegades” would have been strongly denounced. However, now they are applauded by the League Commissioner, their teammates, the media, and those who attend their games.

Is it ironic that all the other games got bad ratings except the Sunday Night game which featured the team the NFL league office loves to hate- the Dallas Cowboys!

I didn't directly help as I've been boycotting since last year! Then again, maybe I did. I watched the Bucs opening game last year but tuned into nothing this year. OK! Maybe I did help!

You know they'll blame it on the hurricane and one fewer game on the telly!

Ha... or the latest, greatest pill (with side effects that might send you to the emergency room). I hate commercials.
