Well, Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown is about to make the entire state of California one giant safe space for illegal aliens. Over the weekend, the Democratic-controlled state legislature passed the California Value Act, which would bar state and local law enforcement from working with federal authorities on enforcing immigration laws. There was a minor tweak concerning when the state would work with federal law enforcement. The exception would be if an illegal were convicted of a violent crime. State Republicans and the state’s sheriffs were opposed to this measure. It passed along party lines (via NPR):

In a move apparently meant to counter the Trump administration's tough approach to immigration enforcement, the California legislature approved a so-called "sanctuary state" bill Saturday that would establish new protections for people living in the country illegally.

The California Values Act would forbid state and local law enforcement agencies from providing information to or acting as the deputies for federal immigration authorities. The bill also prohibits police and sheriff officers from inquiring about a person's immigration status.

The bill was introduced just before President Trump's inauguration and met opposition from some in California law enforcement, including many local sheriffs who lobbied Calif

I was sad that one of my daughters moved from Seattle to Studio City, CA last year.

Good news: She just gave her notice and is moving to Phoenix. :)

Now the whole family is out of that cesspool.

Why isn’t this tantamount to declaring sovereignty? If I ran the world, the rest of the US would let CA make a go of it as an independent nation, overrun by invaders enabled by elitist know-it-alls who would then on their own have to govern the mess they created.

Sounds like passport control needs to set up points of entry along the border between the US and California.

My question to Brown is “why”?

It may take a while but a few dead relatives of legislators at the hands of illegals may make some change their mind about jumping off the immigration cliff.

The blowing away of sightseeing tourists may make a difference. It brought The Trumpster into and to the forefront of a bitter electoral camapaign.

California, now under a delusional democRat party, seeks to go a different route, an illegal route, and so far, could care less who dies or prospers.

Perhaps the nation needs to claim sanctuary from California and the liberal brigades of “do-gooders” on a mission.

What will happen here is that once you have a couple of murders and rapes that go back to people protected by the state effort...regular people will go and sue the state. We aren’t talking about a measly million or two....but probably in the range of 50-million. After the state loses five to ten of these lawsuits....the question will come up as to where the money will come from. But by this point, there’s probably over a thousand people lined up and wanting their pay-back. If the state wasn’t bankrupted before....they will be bankrupted by this point.

This will be talked about for decades on how the state dug itself so far into debt.

“who would then on their own have to govern the mess they created.”

They always blame someone else.

Federal and state immigration points on all roads in and out of the state. Check those semi-trucks extra slowly and thoroughly! Single lane check stations only. I am positive bordering states will lend support to this national issue.

If you can find a silver lining in this, it takes illegal immigrant pressure off the other states.

SUPREMACY OF THE NATIONAL GOVERNMENT

[2] This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.

[3] The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.

Is there some reason this doesn't apply?

Speaking in a legal sense, how many Senators & Representatives could we be rid of because they have not kept their oath to uphold the Constitution?

Gov Jerry Brown works a behalf of China and Russia.

“Climate Change” is being used as a global economic shift towards world totalitarianism.

China and Russia are working together in this effort. China is the money and Russia is the muscle. They are using North Korea to directly threaten CA.

China is using economic leverage to force the tech giants to do its bidding. This is why you are seeing increased “censorship” on social media platforms.

Too bad. California will turn these “natural conservatives” into liberals. These people come to this country seeking free market capitalism, the rule of law, and traditional morality, only to have the Democrats corrupt them into being statists.
