High schoolers charged with rape, assault of teen girl in Frederick

Two young men were charged and a third remains at large after a teen girl was kidnapped and raped, according to police and court documents filed last week in Frederick.

“This is very, very rare in my experience,” said Detective Joe Palkovic, an assistant supervisor in the Frederick Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division. “The violence of it and the nature of the crime, the fact that this involves someone laying in wait, kidnapping the victim and then taking her to a separate location to rape her, is very rare.”

I wonder about the immigration status of alleged rapists (17-year-old) Edgar Natanal Chicas-Hernandez and (19-year-old) Victor Antonio Gonzalez-Guttierres. I hope that if guilty they will serve a couple decades in prison, either here or in their own country before they take another step as free men. Better, if the victim has a father who loves his daughter, this problem could be solved more permanently and for a much lower price.

Well, no. Just the other day the story broke about a girl who was kidnapped, taken to a deserted house, and raped for days. She escaped the house and had to swim across a lake, which she did. Then as the police were driving her to the station, she recognized the kidnappers in another car, and the cops busted them on the spot.

I used to live in Frederick, MD back in the 80s. It was a wonderful rural community at the time with a lot of farmland. It’s a shame today to read articles about the higher crime rates and gang activity.
