On a day full of criticisms from Donald Trump, political protests, linked arms, players taking a knee or not coming on the field during the National Anthem and renewed pleas for unity from the league NBC and the NFL took a hit last night on Sunday Night Football.
In metered market numbers, the primetime match-up between the 27-10 winning Washington Redskins and the Oakland Raiders snared an 11.6/20.
The worst SNF has performed this season so far, thats an 8% dip from the early numbers of last weeks Atlanta Falcons 34-23 win over the Green Bay Packers. Gaining cheers and boos from fans at FedEx Field in Maryland last night, the third week of SNF for the 2017-2018 season declined 10% from early numbers of the comparable game of last year on September 25, 2016.

Every freeper needs to turn off the NFL. Every one. No excuses.
Washington Brownskins vs Oakland Rapers
Need to sustain this boycott. Encourage your family and friends to stop watching. Get the airport TVs to not switch to it, get your sports bars to tune it out.
Trump’s fault. /s
The NFL's excuse will be this downturn was caused by orbital wobble or something.
Just wait ... the tsunami that is coming their way will make 11% look like a very small number.
I am kinda disappointed; was was hoping for an even bigger drop.
Not good enough, but its still early.
got to remember there was double digit decrease last year so if you add this number, there was over a 20% in viewership in last 2 years. If you are NFL, ESPN, Fox etc you are freaking out. ad rates will continue drop and these networks are going to lose big money. Look for ESPN to continue their cuts.
The NFL is doing nothing but, following total losers and America haters, Obama & Clinton into the acid cesspool of failure and disgrace, Trump wins again.
Let us see what the NFL Idiots pull off tonight, if there is a Monday night football game. I will not be watching!!!
It's been sort of an undercurrent since last year, but the President has brought it out into the open. Then, instead of trying to calm it down, the NFL, the owners, coaches, and players all seemed to ratchet it up. Yesterday, it's as if the league declared war on America.
Next weeks ratings are more likely to reflect it.
After Action report:
My co-workers, mostly a-political but serious football fans are all up in arms today.
Many are saying they are done with the NFL
There is no reason to turn off the NFL if you don't turn it on in the first place.
Too soon for a big drop...this one will take time, but it will be a steady decline and may take a couple of seasons to really take hold. If you think about it, NFL has been on the decline during the Obama/Goodell era...politics and sports don't mix. People want to enjoy sports (NFL, NASCAR, ESPN, etc.) without being told they're rednecks, idiots, neanderthals, etc. Social justice, pride flags and breast cancer awareness have no place in sports, IMHO,just play the da*n game.
I’ll give up the Packers AND the Brewers if YOU give up the Cubs. MLB players are kneeling, too! ;)
Er, are the cheerleaders taking a knee also?
