Puerto Rico officials are praising the proactive response by President Donald Trump and the federal government to the catastrophic damage wrought by Hurricane Maria.
Trump spoke on Thursday with the governors of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Earlier in the week Trump signed official disaster declarations for the two U.S. territories, according to The Hill.

But according to CNN the biggest issue is the blowback against Trump's attack on spoiled professional athletes spitting on the flag.
And while this is the biggest story, Trump is so busy focused on the biggest story that he is deflecting from the story of the day, the need for assistance to Puerto Rico.

Puerto Rico has a lot of problems, but Governor Rosselló is a good man.
I have donated to the fund his wife has set up, much better than donating to the Red Cross.
