The vast majority of people polled in New Jersey want Sen. Robert Menendez (D) to step down if he's found guilty on charges of bribery, according to a new poll that shows the embattled senator's favorability rating plummeting.
Eighty-four percent of likely voters call for him to resign in a new Suffolk University poll commissioned by USA Today , while just 10 percent believe he should stay in office if convicted. Those high marks are even reflected among Democrats, as more than three quarters agree he should not remain in office if convicted.
His favorable rating is upside down in the state, with 46 percent of likely voters viewing him unfavorably compared with the just 20 percent of voters who view him favorably.
Menendez is accused of helping his friend, Florida eye doctor Salomon Melgen, obtain visas for female friends and advocating on his behalf with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services in exchange for lavish gifts and campaign contributions.
He has so far refused to entertain the prospect of a resignation, professing his innocence. But Republicans have upped the pressure on Democrats, pushing them to commit to call for his resignation if Menendez is found guilty.
There are many other Marxists in NJ waiting to replace him.

These people make me physically ill. Some of the positions I’ve held, would have dropped my like a bad habit, or not even hired me if I were facing the types of charges this screw worm is.
Let Christie appoint himself. The seat will be gone soon enough. Can Trump/Sessions make him an offer he can’t refuse?

On two-thirds vote, the Senate can expel him. It might be smarter for the GOP to let him remain a senator from a prison; he won’t be available to vote.
It’s not that a majority think anything in NJ. Trenton and its handlers run things. Most idiots don’t know that a governor’s race is on let alone anything about the pervert Senator.

What does Menendez care about polls? It’s not like he’s running for office again. He’ll be tried, most likely be convicted, and will appeal. He won’t resign until Christie is out of office and a Democrat is governor.
In other news, 16% of NJ voters have previously bought and paid for a US Senator and want him in office under any and all circumstances.
Exactly. Menendez likes to sexually abuse little girls, maybe even little boys for all we know. He should be locked away permanently. He is a vile man.
I heard somewhere a while back that he had participated in those trips. I don't find it on a net search now; maybe it's been scrubbed.
