Well said C. LONGGGGGG time MLB fan here. Burn’s Baseball series was so FILLED with inaccuracies, (and those numerous mistakes of Burn’s were later documented and verified as inaccurate by long time MLB’s older fans and the caretakers/historians of the great game), it was pathetic.

Don’t use anything on pbs or by burns “to learn more”. Go elsewhere.

You’re right. I watched episode 9 last night. The series showed respect to deserters and trashy people that were disrespectful to our soldiers. Those people don’t deserve our respect.

rktman:But, it seemed sympathetic to the antis a little too much for my liking.

If you watched episode 10, the deserter they interviewed talked about how going to Canada was the biggest mistake and regret in his life, and how it still pains him to this day. One of the anti-war protestors they featured earlier, talked about how horrible she felt about what she said, she started to break down in tears and said she was sorry about what she said to service members.

I liked that they let Jane Fonda's words and actions speak for themselves - her own words and actions showed her as a vindictive traitorous bitch, and I'm glad they spent very little time on her.

I watched the entire series, and it brought back far too many painful memories, but was a lot more balanced than I would have expected, and the fact that I see liberals and conservatives alike pissed off at the series says they did a pretty good job of striking a balance.

I give them a lot of credit for showing how murderous the North Vietnamese were, how vindictive the North Vietnamese were towards the South, and how Communism failed economically and damn near killed a lot of people through starvation (which pissed off a lot of liberals)

Read it and gave it to my late father-in-law, ex Air Force, he became so enraged after two or three chapters he had to stop reading it. McMasters should know better now as NSA director with some of stunts he’s pulling.
