Trump’s election commission long on rhetoric, short on integrity
The Seattle Times ^ | September 17, 2017 | Julie Wise

Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach and his company of voter-fraud-conspiracy theorists met for the second time last week ostensibly to discuss historical turnout, public confidence and electronic voting systems. In reality, they trotted out panel after panel of “expert” witnesses, made up entirely of white men (a group that has never faced barriers to voting), to make the case for voter ID and other laws that will inevitably disenfranchise voters.

The Seattle Times is Fake News, print version.

Every once in awhile I get asked to subscribe at a grocery store. I always tell the poor schmuck flogging the rag that if I wanted Pravda, I’d subscribe to Pravda.

The left needs vote fraud, therefore it will be supported, comrade!

…to make the case for voter ID and other laws that will inevitably disenfranchise voters.

And precisely how does ensuring a voter ID's disenfranchise any legitimate voter?

The Seattle Times is run by the fake news establishment. I canceled by subscription years ago when sports page became political.

Nothing scares the lefties more than ending voter fraud.

“But Wise’s description of her educational background in the King County voters’ pamphlet is misleading. She lists the University of Washington Evans School and Harvard Kennedy School in the brief summary line, from which a reader could infer she graduated with a degree from both. She did not.

After graduating from Green River Community College with a two-year degree, she presented one year as an undergraduate at the University of Washington in 2002-03 without graduating. While she attended a one-week executive leadership course at Harvard in February, 2014, she did not get a degree.”

Some liberal pundit on TV today actually made a good point....if minorities have their own voter IDs, they will not be challenged inside the polling place by the judges at the tables as so many complain, rightly or wrongly, happens all the time.

Contrary to the liberal and media spin, the voter ID card is a PROTECTION for minority voting rights, NOT an obstacle.

The foundation of our democracy is public confidence in the systems that allow us to make decisions as a community. Having been down the path of broken trust, King County Elections knows this all too well. After painstakingly rebuilding and slowly re-establishing faith

Hmmm. "Having been down the path of broken trust"? Sounds like "election fraud" to me. And what do we see as the second entry in a search for "King County election fraud"?:

Workers accused of concocting the biggest voter-registration-fraud scheme in state history said they were under pressure from the community-organizing group that hired them to sign up more voters, according to charging papers filed Thursday. ... Prosecutors in King and Pierce counties filed felony charges Thursday against seven employees of ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, claiming they turned in more than 1,800 phony voter-registration forms

https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/seven-charged-in-vote-fraud-scheme/

ACORN’s Washington state president, John Jones, said he will put the emphasis in future campaigns on “doing it right” rather than meeting a quota. To guard against fraud in the future, he said, “We’re going to screen people better, we’re going to do background checks on them, we’re going to check their references, we’re going to get people with a track record in doing this

They're going to do what now? "Background checks"? Just shaking my head at what I know is really driving him -- racism!

Mega BS. They have been spitting out this lie for decades. It's ironic because the Democrats INSTUTUTED disenfranchisement. In today's society and election process, there is no excuse to not legally show who the hell you are and not have five million fraud votes for a candidate.

One does not exist without an ID. Don't freaking tell me most Democrat voters are off da grid inda ghetto.

I love the end of the summer when I’m darker than most Mexicans and some liberal putz rags on me.

I just say “No habla English”

The look of horror on his/her face when he/she sees a ‘Hispanic’ instead of an old white guy.

It is absolutely priceless. Then I walk away muttering the nastier Spanish curse words.

Excellent point, and bears repeating, thus the above.

If India could afford to print 800 Million voter ID’s with photo, it is laughable that US has no photo ID’s in many states. In WA state, one does not even need to show her face in the voting booth since 100% voting is by mail. I remember registering to vote without any proof required to prove citizenship.
