My theory: As stated previously; with the addition that this information is being suppressed in order to protect the agency/mission, whatever that was, and to prevent panic & speculation involving the people who actually did the shooting.

ISIS claims that their guy did the shooting. Someone who converted recently... They do not name “Paddock”, they name Abu Abd Abdul Barr al-Ameriki...

We assume that they are the same person, and dismiss it entirely, because Paddock isn’t a mudslime convert.

Also:

The “4th floor shooter” is a red herring. All of the debunking of this meme is sound. There was no 4th floor shooter.

This is currently being expanded to “There was no other shooter, stupid! That whole 4th floor thing has been thoroughly debunked!”

The story is being managed, and it is being managed to the advantage of those who are managing it, as always.
