Didnt you read that the hallway cameras were all “ jammed”?
Yes this aged flabby pop-up terrorist was a mixture of James Bond, Jason Bourne, Carlos the Jackal and McGyer

Yeah I read it, but don’t know if it’s true.

If true would that not mean the hotel was using wireless devices for their security?

And second, garage records show that during a period when Paddock's car left the hotel garage, one of his key cards was used to get into his room.

Investigators ALREADY have those answers by watching security cam footage.

They're NOT telling the public either because they're searching for whover used the room key... or we will NEVER know because it does NOT fit the agenda of what they want the public to KNOW.

I find it hard to believe it’s possible to win $5,000,000 playing video poker. I find it harder to believe any casino would not ban someone that “lucky”.

IRS allows all kinds of expenses to be included in losses including travel and accommodations. No way a casino would be able to or be required to track.

“...Is it within the realm of possibility that this guy could regularly earn this kind of money from actual gambling?...”

No, the house always wins.

If someone starts winning too much, they throw him/her out.

Gamblers will share accomodations with other gambling friends.

$5 mil is a huge win for 1 year. I bet it can be traced back to one huge win.

The difference between a professional gambler and a degenerate gambler is a professional manages to have money.

Who leaked the IRS information? Pre-Obama that was one of the worst political sins one could commit.

If he was that good of a gambler and that much of a pro then other big time pros would know him, but I hear not a peep about other gambling pros relating interactions with him.

If a gambler finds a steady overlay, the smart professional ones go incognito as to make sure another pro starts picking his strawberry patch.

Multilevel parking garages in Las Vegas are crawling with cameras. Who was it who entered and drove away in the suspect vehicle? Was it the suspect?

And how many hotel room card keys was the suspect issued and were they still in his possession?

A set of parallel time lines for all sorts of people, electronic events, location of things, etc. can be informative.

We would benefit from the timing of each shot from his room for example.

"What I think was actually happening was that the casinos were filing real 1099 Copy As for his $5 million in winnings, but his offsetting losses (also in the millions) were also reported on his Form 1040. Losses are reported basically on the honor system, and he used this loophole to launder the 1099 money. "

It's not just the honor system if you're playing the slot or video poker machines. The casinos keep computerized records of your play if you use your player's card while at the machines. They will know to the penny how much you wagered, how much you won and how much you lost and will provide you a printout of your wins and loses for your tax filings if you ask for it.

It is more of an honor system at the table games and in the poker room but even there (for any serious amounts of cash) the casino has a very good idea of how much is being won and lost. They are under constant scrutiny by the feds just because they are one the few remaining places that small-timers can launder money.

Note: the big boys just ask their bank to provide the laundering service for them and the banks are more than happy to comply.    HSBC to pay $1.9 billion U.S. fine in money-laundering case

They have the data, let’s do a painstaking day by day.

Why it is taking a while.

I understand, but they have time frames when he was at the hotel. It’s not like they have to look at an entire month or 2 or 3 months. The Mandalay Bay part of the investigation regarding his movements should not take long. In my opinion, they already know or have damn good idea what the motive at this point.

“I’ve read elsewhere that his “earnings” have the whiff of laundered money. Is it within the realm of possibility that this guy could regularly earn this kind of money from actual gambling?”

It has got to be money laundering unless that $5 million does not include losses or he hit one huge jackpot.

And the fact they’ve revealed when his car exited the parking garage someone used a key-card to gain access to his room, is big, unless it turns out to be hotel maid etc. But I would guess Paddock would have made sure to avoid housekeeping messing things up for him.
