The Trump administration on Friday announced a major rollback of the ObamaCare contraceptive mandate, granting what officials called “full protection” to a wide range of companies and organizations that claim a “religious or moral objection” to providing the coverage.

The decision swiftly ignited a new battle over the Affordable Care Act. Republican lawmakers and faith-based groups hailed the decision as a win for religious liberty, while Democratic officials and groups like Planned Parenthood accused the administration of attacking women’s rights.

By early afternoon, the American Civil Liberties Union announced it was filing a lawsuit challenging the change.

If it can be instituted by mere regulation, which it was, then mere regulation can just as lawfully undo it.

The liberals will wail that birth control is being taken away.

I don’t keep up with costs, but aren’t birth control pills fairly inexpensive? So even if the Sandra Flukes of the world need to pay out if their own pockets, it’s not exactly breaking the bank is it????

The liberals conflate who pays for birth control, or requiring it as part of insurance plans, with issues of access to birth control.

The evening news had plenty of wailing & gnashing of teeth going on. That mandatory birth control is just another tool in their toolbox to use as a wedge issue to disrupt our society with. Fuel for the social decay fire.

The Birth Control mandate was just an insidious way to get the real goal of govt backed baby killing. Typical of the evil left use a more benign element (birth control) to get to the real goal of abortion. Thank the Lord for President Trump.

The Obama administration went too far making contraceptives free, but if a lot of women wind up unable to obtain contraception by paying the co-pay, like for any other medication, this will be a step too far in the other direction.

Democratic officials and groups like Planned Parenthood accused the administration of attacking women’s rights.

What "rights" were attacked, exactly?

Taking contraception from the Little Sisters of the Poor is a non-factor

The article states that 99.9% of women are unaffected by this change.

It only affects religious organizations that have an objection to contraception.

Article stated that out of over 165 million women, only 120,000 are affected by this change...

That 120,000 figure is disputed according to the article by the ACLU which alleges that this could hit virtually all women of childbearing age. We’ll see how it plays out.

this could hit virtually all women of childbearing age

This assumes that every working woman of childbearing age works for an employer who has religious/moral objections to contraception or abortion. Utter nonsense.

But even if it were accurate, they could just pay themselves. There is absolutely no reason for society to privilege anti-baby measures over diabetes drugs, heart bypasses, hip replacements, or physical therapy.

Women’s rights? They can pay for their birth control or go get some at the free clinic and various others places at low or no cost.
They just wanted to force people who are against baby murder and birth control to pay for it. The left is evil.

Well it will play out in the courts, and if the ACLU is right, there could be a price to be paid for singling out birth control to be treated differently than any other medication. The reply you have given won’t be a very effective one should that happen.
