SAN FRANCISCO Google has found evidence that Russian agents bought ads on its wide-ranging networks in an effort to interfere with the 2016 presidential campaign.
The findings from an internal inquiry draw Google further into the growing investigation of how social networks and technology services were manipulated by the Russian government to spread misinformation and sow division during the 2016 election.
Using accounts believed to be connected to the Russian government, the agents purchased $4,700 worth of search ads and more traditional display ads, according to a person familiar with the companys ongoing inquiry who was not allowed to speak about it publicly. Google found the accounts through its own research and information provided by other technology companies.
Google found a separate $53,000 worth of ads with political material that were purchased from Russian internet addresses, building addresses or with Russian currency. It is not clear whether any of those were connected to the Russian government, and they may have been legitimately purchased by Russian citizens, the person said.
The messages of those ads spanned the political spectrum. One account spent $7,000 on ads to promote a documentary called Youve Been Trumped, a film about Donald J. Trumps efforts to build a golf course in Scotland along an environmentally sensitive coastline. Another spent $36,000 on ads questioning whether President Barack Obama needed to resign. Yet another bought ads to promote political merchandise for Mr. Obama.

Sounds more like Russians paid Google to interfere in the election.
The big Russian hack of the election.
This is nothing like adding phony votes, which is what the Dems have done.
They caught, caught, Democrat Vice President Al Gore with suitcases full of bribe money from the Chinese government.
And the press yawned.
And Obama sent teams of political operatives to Britain and Israel to subvert their elections.
Should he go to prison? Perhaps so. Let’s investigate.
People click and leave.
But we all know the story of Benghazi, of Bubba's "I did not"....and millions of foreign monies in the Hillary "Pay to Play" kitty.
Russia sponsoring and spreading (though not necessarily creating) extremist views on both the Left and on the Right in order to destroy American society.
What happened to the 17 intelligence agencies?
I’m wondering if any Mexican connected accounts bought anti-Trump ads to interfere in our elections.
Everybody ought to hire those Russian geniuses. They can turn an election using 1/10000th of what the American political parties spend.
I still have yet to hear a coherent explanation for why the Russians would deliberately try to elect a pro-America, somewhat nationalist President who was guaranteed to make Russia’s life harder, over a candidate who had approved the sale of 20% of the US Uranium supply to Russia, had openly attempted to strengthen relations with Russia, and who had campaigned on essentially continuing her predecessor’s policy of bending over backwards (being flexible) for Russia while asking nothing in return.
A hundred thousand for some ads. Are you kidding? Hillary spent 10 times that amount and look what happened to her.
That’s a drop in a bucket. Negligible.
but none of clintons missing emails......
Russian ads on Google told Hillary to not campaign in 4 swing states.
Sounds like BS to me. If the Russian government wanted to interfere in the US elections they wouldn’t be so stupid as to leave a trail. No, they would have set up a dummy PAC in the US and bought ads through that group. It’s obvious to me that a trail leading to Russia is a Red Herring.
So.....Putin got Trump elected with $4700 worth of Google ads? My Gawd, he IS an EEEEEVIL GENIUS!!! /s

That is what gets me also. hiLIARy, of the infamous “Reset Button” is stupid and when not easily duped, can be bought for a pittance.
Why in the heck would Russia NOT want her???? They already knew Trump is the kind of guy that will tell them to shove any deal he doesn’t like up their Russian gulags!
