Illegal guns get into Chicago through lone dealers, not large trafficking organizations, and that makes any legislative action taken to stop the flow totally impractical, according to Chicago police.
Police researchers say that most illegal guns come from nearby states like Indiana and Iowa after being stolen or resold by their original owners, according to a Tuesday report from the Chicago Sun Times. In this way, the trafficking of firearms is different from the trafficking of illegal substances, which relies heavily on national and even international crime organizations. As a result, the arrest of individual gun dealers does virtually nothing to stop the flow of illegal firearms.
“You are a single salmon swimming upstream at Niagara Falls,” Chicago Police Department spokesman Anthony Guglielmi told the Sun Times. “If your policing strategy is to decrease the number of guns in your city, good luck, because there are too many guns out there. It’s better to go after the person with the gun.”
Police operations to take down these individual gun dealers usually take the form of sting operations and bribing street level offenders for information.

The gangs have crooked corrupt figures helping them get the guns. We know it’s true.
The violence comes from thousands of youts without normal values. For them, it’s OK to shoot someone.

Think of this: Chicago has banned guns, but there is still gun violence. Louisiana has lots of gun stores, but New Orleans is racked with gun violence. Wonder what the common denominator is.
Their problem is caused by their war on the police, not law abiding gun shops.
The way things go we should outlaw books, that way literacy will be valued on the streets.

And that’s what makes the article worthless as the writer doesn’t get specific about whether these are FFL dealers with all the requirements that entails or somebody “dealing” as a sideline without benefit of the FFL. I’m guessing it’s the latter case and that person should fall under the full weight of the law.
Illinois and Chicago were required to “normalize” their regulation of guns by the McDonald decision in 2010. As long as you are a state resident, you can get a carry license that’s good throughout the state. There are no other state carry licenses accepted for carry in IL, however.
And the left blame Pence for his state’s not-so-strict gun laws.

Passing more laws will not help as the number one crime plea’ed out is committing a crime with a firearm.
Chicago just yesterday reached and now is in the process of passing the 500th murder by gunfire this YEAR.
Why is Chicago the murder-by-gun capital? It cannot be just the liberal state government, or NYC, LA and SF would be far ahead.
