Bowe Bergdahl, the US soldier held as a Taliban captive in Afghanistan for five years, has pleaded guilty to desertion and misbehaviour before the enemy. The 31-year-old Army sergeant entered his plea on Monday before a military judge at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The Idaho native's lawyers have argued he cannot get a fair trial following criticism from Donald Trump during last year's presidential campaign. Mr Trump had called him "a no-good traitor who should have been executed."

It’s an arranged deal in the works...probably no more than ten years, with five years credit for the time held captive. I’ll point out one problem here with the Army...when this nut showed up and wanted to sign up, and the medical discharge from the Coast Guard was apparent...the Army should have asked questions and refused to accept the guy. They were just begging for trouble by accepting him.

The Taliban Bergdahl ‘sought’ out, we are still at war with. So no matter how he tries to lay blame somewhere else he sought them out. That’s a traitor!
Would be nice to know who signed him up....I’m not prepared to lay blame on the Army by any means....but who signed him on?
