Swarthmore is of the Quaker heritage and has proudly flaunted its maverick, morally-better-than-you attitude for decades - back in the years right after WWII any number of her professors refused for some reason of principal to take the loyalty oath pledging allegiance to the US and refuting Communism which was being invoked at better campuses all over the country - this SISY group is just one in a long line of Swarthmore conformist rebels......

I know I saw it in 1984 and had assumed it was new. I recall that there was no indication of the country where it was produced (presumably South Africa at a time when all right-thinking people were expected to think badly of white South Africans). It’s possible that there was a delay before it was shown in the US.
That movie played for OVER A YEAR at our local theater.
