Just like the movie Jaws. I think you’re getting to the rut of the stonewalling.
If you feel someone was shooting from a helicopter during the event, that aircraft very likely could be easily ID’d.
Curiously, Vegas has a company that permits tourists to rent rides in helicopters for a “shooting” spree, in which they fire an automatic weapon out the window into 70 acres of desert.
I don’t know if that figures in, or not.
But if so, the helicopters, ammo, and guns were already available.
there are 4 or 5 heli companies at the airport. Like bus companies, they spend their days and evenings running a given circuit around downtown, separated by so many minutes and are in contact with ATC. Should one break out or ‘hover’, it would disrupt the entire circuit, like a guy hitting his brakes on the freeway - that is, at least one and likely the entire chain would be aware of the disruption to the flow. No phantom helis on radar, no phantom helis breaking into the circuit and then getting away. Nice try on a theory, but it’s not even a squirrel hole.
