I apologize for any confusion in earlier posts regarding Catalonia.

I have been hearing that Catalonia is a hot bed of Moslem terror networks. To give it independence is to let Islam win more power in its attempt to take over all of Europe. Of course there may be more to the situation than just what I have said.
The rags are still mad that they lost Spain. They are taking it back one piece at a time.
I strongly suspect that is the case since Farage is no friend or supporter of the migrant tidal wave.
Lets understand that Angela Merkel among others in the EU are against Catalan independence and consider which side of Islamic terror she is on.
But this isn’t the story in Catalonia, its about Catalan heritage which includes opposition to invasion from Africa by Moslems.
Its also about Catalans paying taxes to Madrid that get spent elsewhere in the country.
On this link at 8:30am Catalan President Carles Puigdemont, deposed by order of the Spanish government, will appear and speak to the Catalan people.

The big question now, that I haven’t heard anyone mention, is will the Catalonians hold a general strike? Not just a typical strike, closing businesses and that sort of thing, but a strike that hits the Spanish government in the pocketbook.
Catalonia is the largest economic engine in Spain, and is heavily taxed by the Spanish government. Catalonia produces about one-fifth of the Spanish GDP.
Last year, Spain ran a 4.5% budget deficit. This year, even without a strike, because of their police action and takeover it might run to 6 or 7%.
So the goals of a strike should be three things:
1) To refuse to do business with the replacement government.
2) To cut off the flow of money, as much as possible, to the Spanish government.
3) Pull all funding out of the Spanish financial institutions in Catalonia. When you put the squeeze on bankers, they howl.
Budgets are based on both revenue and spending. Since the Spanish government, like most western governments, is addicted to overspending and budget deficits, they won’t ever cut their spending.
So if Catalonia can turn off the revenue pump, Spain’s economy and government will be put on the hot seat.
Their credit rating will be slashed, and any loans they get will be much more expensive. Their income from exports to the EU will also be curtailed.
Oh, it just gets better and better.

Zactly. Without the Catalonian cash cow, Spain will accelerate their debt bubble greatly. And when Spain collapses, the dominoes will start to fall. The EU naturally is against independence.
I asked a source in Spain his opinion about this, and he chuckled, “It is well known that as the ‘engine room’ of Spain, Catalonia generates around a fifth of GDP but they consume around a third of the government’s budget in the process!”
I don’t know what the figures are myself.
Granted, I wasn't everywhere in the city but did see quite a bit and stayed in the center of the city and walked and took buses and trams all over.
I actually did more on foot in that city at night than I would have done in most US cities.
Saw no Muslim threat anywhere (that was before muzzie ran people down nearby to where I stayed, however but still saw nothing indicating city overrun by Muslims.)
Having recently been to Barcelona, myself, I concur with what you said.
London and Paris are much worse than Barcelona in that department.
I am not up on this issue at all but just aware it exists. If there is a moslem problem it is the existing Spanish governmemnt’s fault...not the Catalonians. That would be like blaming Texas for America’s immigration problem.
Well, sort of. Catalonia is responsible for 25% of Spain’s exports, and 23% of its industry. The biggest issue is how much of Spain’s national debt would Catalonia take with it.
As with most western governments, Spain’s biggest budget issues are social security and health care. Perhaps the reason that Catalonia consumes so much national revenue, is because its retired industrial employees have much bigger pensions than everyone else.
