Trump pollster thinks Sanders would have won 2016 election

The pollster for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign said he believes Bernie Sanders could have won the 2016 election had he won the Democratic nomination instead of Hillary Clinton.

Asked during an event at Harvard University who would have prevailed in a race between Sanders and Trump, Tony Fabrizio said: “I think Sanders beats Trump,” The Hill reported.

“I think Sanders would have had the ability to reach a lot of the less than college-educated, low-income white voters,” he said at the event for the Harvard University Institute of Politics on Monday evening.

Writing in “What Happened,” Clinton’s memoir about the election, she blamed Sanders, a Vermont independent, for attacking her with “innuendo” and said he did little to help her rally progressives after she won the nomination.

Fabrizio said the contest between Trump and Clinton was one for the ages.

“There’s no question that if it had been anybody other than Clinton or anybody other than Trump, that race would not have been as close as it was either way,”

He's entitled to his opinion but I think in a one on one battle Sander's ultraliberal positions would have turned off middle American voters even more. I don't think the electoral college would have been much different but Trump would have won more of the popular vote, if not won it outright.

Trump pollster thinks Sanders would have won 2016 election

I hope as many Democrats as possible believe this.

As much as it pains me to say it, I think Sanders would have won. There are simply too many people invested in the gibsmedat culture of free stuff paid for by someone else.

I wonder......how many Bernie supporters stayed home instead of voting for Hillary? Bernie may have split the dem vote without even being in the race.

I've heard/read this theory a number of times, and there may be some credence to it. However, let's also remember that Donald Trump would have run a very different campaign against Sanders than he did against Clinton.

Hillary Clinton is actually younger than Trump but is so decrepit and feeble that she made him look 30 years younger. Sanders is a few years older than Trump but looks old enough to be his father.

Had it not been for horrific candidates John McCain, Bob Dole and Mitt Romney, the GOP might have won those races as well. The thing about politics is, it’s like an arbitration. Nobody comes away from an arbitration happy with the outcome.

I think he’s simply mocking Hillary Clinton, rather than genuinely believing in Sanders’s ability to win a national election.

If you are lower class and poorly educated, who would you vote for?

True. Bernie and his spaced out supporters aren't nearly as adept at vote fraud and intimidation as the Clinton Crime Syndicate. I'm still amazed she managed to lose.

“I think Sanders would have had the ability to reach a lot of the less than college-educated, low-income white voters,”

That would surely lock up the majority, as the left has a firm grasp on super-majority of the criminal class and the high-school dropout vote in every major city in America. They are the core of their party.

I thought the same thing about Obama's ultraliberal positions in the 2008 election. I was wrong.

I think the pollster is right. Trump and Sanders were trying to make the same sale and Sanders was better at delivering his message than Trump was.

Exactly correct, Alberta’s Child.

I thought he would win as well. The American people are just that ignorant. It would have taught the informed among us a good lesson: most Americans do not understand the basic worldviews and how they contrast and what they really mean. I wanted Bernie as our opponent even though I knew we might lose. It would have been an election between two honest men with DIAMETRICALLY OPPOSING world views. It would have been an honest philosophical debate. I didn’t think a criminal like Hillary deserved to be even mopping the floors and taking out the trash after the presidential debate of 2016.

An election between capitalist patriot Trump even coming down to the wire with opponent communist Bernie Sanders is HUGE. And it would have been close. People do NOT understand economics or liberty. THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM. It isn’t getting better. If you don’t know history you are doomed to repeat it. To stop totalitarianism you need to know what causes it. Masses of ignorant people with “good intentions” cause it.

I agree. I think Sanders was unbeatable. A lot of dont realize how many Americans support Socialism these days.

The Democrats made a huge mistake nominating Hillary.

He would have attracted SOME people, but Trump would have campaigned way differently and trounced socialism every day. That might have been a good thing for many to hear.
