Is Mueller running scared?
American Thinker ^ | 10/31/2017 | Patricia McCarthy

Posted on 10/31/2017 7:24:32 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

Monday was quite the news day.  Mueller indicted Paul Manafort, Richard Gates, a Manafort business partner, and George Papadopoulos.  The latter two men are completely unknown to most Americans, very minor characters in this bit of political theater, akin to the fairy servants of A Midsummer NIght's Dream.  After nearly a year, this is Mueller's big play?  The results of a multi-millions dollar "investigation" (witch hunt)?  Sixteen hardcore Democrat lawyers on his staff and this is it?  A big nothing that is essentially, as Andrew McCarthy wrote yesterday,  "...not much there, a boon to Trump."

This is most likely just an overture. Mueller and his gang of lefty thug lawyers play hardball and will use every trick in their bag to get these men to betray others.  But what if there is nothing to betray?  What if the only crooks are among the Democrat left?

It seems like Mueller perhaps rushed his big splash onto the stage.  As of last Saturday, Manafort had no inkling he was about to be indicted. Papadopoulos had no heads up.  His lawyer was not even available to him yesterday morning.  This is unusual in federal non-violent crimes indictments.  Was Mueller perhaps feeling the heat from all that has been revealed about his part in the Uranium One scandal and pal Comey's knowledge of the Clinton-commissioned "dossier"?

The editorial board of the Wall Street Journal has called for him to resign.  There have in fact been numerous calls for him to resign given his and Comey's role in overseeing the Uranium One pay-to-play scheme.  Seems like he is feeling some heat.  As legal analysts (real ones, not CNN's Jeffrey Toobin) have weighed in all day, these indictments are a big load of nothing, certainly nothing related to any alleged Trump/Russia collusion.  Clearly Mueller has found little or nothing on that score.

Trump would have won more of the popular vote, if not won it outright.

It seemed like odd timing that Mueller came out with these indictments right after even the left leaning WSJ came out against him. I think that it will probably only cause him to "double down", and his staff will manufacture evidence if there is none to be found.

I believe Manafort has some piece detrimental to the DNC/False Mueller charge.
They couldn’t find anything on the offensive, so they went on the defensive.
In my opinion, they believe Manafort knows something detrimental to the Obama regime. He knows some of the pieces, enough to sink their ship.

Obviously they hope to uncover similar money laundering schemes done by Trump.

“Consolation” Indictments. After all that attention from high $ attorneys, you don’t walk away empty-handed. It wouldn’t seem right.

One possibility here is that the indictments were rushed because of statutes of limitations that were about to expire on some of the charges. What lends some credence to this theory is that the indictment documents include references to alleged tax fraud and mortgage fraud that were NOT included in the indictment — probably because the statutes of limitations for those charges already HAD expired.

Gee, Ya Think?

Ten year old IRS beef, and that's all he's got?

Papadopoulos had no heads up.

She is wrong about that. He, George Papadopolous, has known about his fate for quite sometime as the unsealed indictment indicates he has been cooperating with them since late July.

Now he may have had no heads up before that, but then this is true of most who get indicted. Especially those indicted for lying to the FBI.

A bit off topic, but does anybody remember when Ken Starr was investigating Bill Clinton? The press literally camped outside his house 24/7 with cameras rolling and screamed questions at him as he took out his trash. Clinton supporters from Moveon.org followed him around and protested and harassed him everywhere he went.

With Mueller...nothing of sort. I have yet to see one camera at his house or one Trump supporter with a sign following him around.

As I said on the other thread...it’s a Hail Mary move to try to float something, anything.

Euphemistic, vague crap like “between 2006 and as late as 20xx...”

Please. The law is technical. Name a date, a time, a place and the actual act and cite the relevant statute. Otherwise leave the courtroom.

If they believe Manafort has something detrimental to the Obama regime and/or the FBI under Mueller, then indicting him was probably the worst thing they could have done. As a defendant in a criminal case he will be able to demand access to any and all documents related to the charges brought against him, and might even be able to subpoena the FBI agents involved in those matters.

If not for statutes of limitation, I doubt yesterday would have happened at all. It seems way to short a period of time to start that part of the investigation. Watergate took 4 years and Bill Clinton’s investigation took 6 years. Muller saw the date getting nearer and nearer to statue of limitation and needed to take action ASAP.

I think Mueller is trying to put pressure on Manafort to testify against Trump.

Mueller was brought in to take out Trump and he can’t find anything. So he is trying to squeeze Trump’s associates.

I don’t think this tactic is going to work. There’s just nothing that can be used against Trump.

As I have posted previously, Mueller used to be a Marine officer, but it is apparent that the Marine code of honor wasn’t imprinted very well on his core. So after he became a lawyer in the Swamp, it was easy to become part of the Swamp where honor and integrity are nonexistent.

WELL CONSIDERING THAT HE IS ONE OF THE PEOPLE THAT SHOULD BE INDICTED FOR “RUSSIA COLLUSION” I WOULD HOPE SO

Despite what they say, deranged leftists hope dearly that Trump dismisses Mueller from the investigation. They hope to god him into taking that action.

Sorry for the football analogy, but I’m seeing a lot of posts here that smack of “hey, we may be down 34-0, but just wait till the second half. That’s when we’ll get ‘em.”
