The woman who posted a photo of herself giving the middle finger to President Donald Trump’s motorcade to social media has been fired from her job, The Huffington Post reports.

As Trump returned from the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Va., Sunday, Oct. 29, a woman later self-identified as Julie Briskman, made the rude gesture to the president’s motorcade twice as she was cycling on the same road.

As an employee of six months seniority, she was likely in some sort of “probationary period” where it is easier for her employer to fire. Not to worry, she’ll likely soon find another way in the DC metro area to feed off the government teat.

Better to dump her than to have her working on govt contracts and doing who knows what kind of mischief.

I flipped off Marine One a few years ago. Not sure Barry could see me, but I meant it. No selfie though...

Good. Normal people have put up with discrimination for years. Remember the circus clown with the bammy mask? fired. Now it’s their turn to feel the heat and get fired for minor things.

She apparently worked for a government contractor in marketing and PR, :-), so I would have fired her too.

Interesting juxtaposition...

As a government contractor, Akima LLC was concerned that the photo might hurt their ability to win government contracts…

Compare to the NFL that took zero actions with their "employees" who gave the nation the finger hurting their ability to win advertising contracts and attract customers.

Was she on the clock when she did this?

If not, I’m not a fan of her firing, despite what she did.
The First Amendment guarantees your right to express opinions on your free time. Would anyone here who said rude things about Obama want to be fired for doing so?

If Colin Kaepernick were protesting cops on his own time I’d have to loathe and defend him at the same time.

When Obama and Christie passed with 50 yards of my home after superstorm Sandy, I held a “Watergate, Zero Dead...Benghazi, Four Dead...RESIGN!” sign in my left hand and saluted the motorcade with my right. You salute the position, not the person, and old habits die hard. (US Navy, 1961-64.)

She feels better after her meaningless obscene gesture towards a car. Ahh, liberals, you are a shining example of bad losers. Hope you didn’t need that paycheck.

her employer is a “company that holds several government contracts, doing marketing and communications work”

They should offer their services to the NFL. They probably have a better understanding of “marketing and communications” than Goodell, and certainly a better understanding how employees can impact business.

No one prevented her from flipping the bird; or are you saying that the first makes you immune to any and all reactions to your words? I don’t see any government prosecution of her for her gesture; simply a company sweeping an embarrassment out the door.

That's something the MSM forgot to mention.

Personally I don’t get giving the president or his motorcade the finger.

When bubba was in Sacramento during his tenure I waited in a group to see if his motorcade would stop to shake our hands. He did stop and even with my intense dislike for the man, it never entered my mind to give him the finger. I shook his hand and well, it was pretty cool that I got to shake a presidents hand.

Yeah, I agree. You should be able to be whatever d**k you want on your own time. It's no different than getting into a political debate at your local bar. She's kind of a dope for posting on the internet, but that seems to be a mental disease that a lot of people share these days -- oversharing.

I would fire any employee who did something like this and posted it on his Facebook and LinkedIn pages.

I've always had strict rules about employees conducting themselves in a professional manner in the public eye. In this case, her offense is apparently even more egregious because she lists the name of her employer on her social media accounts. Posting a photo of yourself making an obscene gesture is a no-no for any responsible employer.
