I just voted in SW Virginia. Rural area, goes usually about 58-42 for the good guys (or at least the less-evil guys). More cars than usual for off year elections but no real wait inside. This was about noon. I'd guess that it was half of 2016 (Trump), and about equal to when Cuccinelli lost a very close race without any establishment help in 2013 to McAuliffe. Although the Dems have an edge in VA now, I still think it is very winnable for Republicans. My hope is that we pull out a win in a close election. For those conservatives sitting out because Gillespie is kind of gutless, I know you won't listen but it still needs to be said. You are not helping.
We’re hoping and praying for y’all!...................
What time will they call it?
It’s drizzling up here in Frederick County.
Darn! I voted for Gillespie when the polls opened. I hear NoVA has been slow due to rain but it is tapering off later this afternoon.
If they move some of the cabinet functions out of DC it becomes red.
Voted this morning (Tidewater). Even though locally deep in blue territory, hoping Repubs pull off the win (just to watch the local libs’ heads implode).
I voted at about 7:45 this morning...more people there than last year. I voted at the same time last year. VA Beach is GOP territory.
The Northern Virginia vote is mostly government employees, ie, DEMOCRATS......................
“I hear NoVA has been slow due to rain but it is tapering off later this afternoon.”
God’s will. Raining in the swamp.
Polls close at 7PM Eastern. So I guess returns start rolling in at 8 Eastern?
When Fairfax County, Alexandria and Arlington know how many "misplaced votes" need to be discovered in the back of some registrar's van.
I voted at 10:00 am at a blue Northern Virginia precinct in Fairfax. There was no line.
You're right. Gillespie is not my choice but the alternative is Ralph Northam for cryin' out loud! I originally planned to vote for Jill Vogel only and leave the other choices blank but Northam's pro abortion ads completely changed my mind.
Voted at 7:30AM in Manassas....extremely light traffic. I saw two voters in the whole joint besides me.
Some democrat judge will extend NoVA voting till midnight if Ralph is losing.
Despite leaving VA 5 years ago I still have my voter ID card. Wonder if there is enough time to hop on a plane and vote often....
Demoralized Democrats and ticked-off Republicans this year. I like the odds.
A cold rain is falling in NOVA this afternoon. The timing is perfect. It’s the first really cold unpleasant day of the season.
My daughter lives in Charlottesville. She gets off work at 3 and will vote Gillespie, Vogel and Adams.
