Air Force blunder allowed Texas church shooter to obtain firearms

While Democrats have been all over the “more gun control” bandwagon since Sunday’s massacre at a Texas church, House Speaker Paul Ryan is pointing out that existing laws should have prevented now-dead suspect Devin Kelley, 26, from buying guns.

Democrats have gone so far as to walk out of a moment of silence in the U.S. House in memory of the victims, as Rep. Ted Lieu, D-Calif., did to make a publicity video.

Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., took a more typical path.

USA Today said he “blasted lawmakers for failing to pass laws that could prevent tragedies like Sunday’s Texas rampage.”

He didn’t specify the laws. And House Speaker Paul Ryan pointed out that the existing laws already prohibited Kelley, a man involved in domestic abuse, from having a weapon.

Srsly? What is it that these assclowns don't get? If this POS had been reported, supposedly none of this would have happened right? Yes, the AF dropped the ball. Does the ball get dropped frequently all over the place all the time? Uh, yeah. That's why the antis will not be happy with just some more lame ass gun laws. You know what they're after. The currentl laws may PROHIBIT but the don't prevent. Fidiots.

Because it was under bammy, it’s a “blunder.” If it had been under Trump, they would be calling it an impeachable offense.

Air Force blunder? Or intentional failure to perform? IMHO it’s an open question until an honest & complete investigation of this and related similar Air Force Court Marshall required FBI notifications is complete.

Bill Clinton and Janet Reno still hold the record for the number of people killed while at church.

Ships colliding in the night, AF failing to do it’s job. Just sayin’. Somebody’s asleep at the wheel or helm.

Air Force blunder allowed Texas church shooter to obtain firearms

...actually should read...

Air Force blunder allowed Texas church shooter to easily obtain firearms from a licensed dealer.

Because, lets be honest...Economics 101. If you have enough cash you can "obtain" any gun (or drug or other contraband) you want regardless of what some piece of paper from a court says.

“he could have bought them used with no check from the local paper.”

Maybe so, but if he’d answered my ad, I’d have told him no sale just looking at him.

Maybe if the BG Check had failed for him, it might have prompted some followup by law enforcement. There are so many places where the system failed with this guy, including his parents, ex-wife, her family, the AF, etc. Someone surely should have seen the problem and taken some action.

NO ONE but the shooter is responsible for his actions. No one.

Blaming this on the Air Force or NICS or anything else is nothing but liberals blaming everyone but the shooter, a shooter that was a liberal Democrat!

Everyone assumes that .gov will correctly and logically apply the law. The problem IS government, it’s repeated failures are the cause of most crimes. Either thru incompetents or intentional acts.

Prime example is the application of prohibition and more recently the war on some drugs.

If felons are not in the database due to incompetence, how many innocent people ARE in there for the same reason?

One simple piece of paper DID NOT allow the shooter to get that gun. If he wanted an AR bad enough, he would still have acquired it one way or another, there are numerous ways. Attend any gun show you want, go on a AR shopping spree, you should find a few.

We are hearing a lot about the Air Force screw up. Why wasn’t this guy reported by local LE. for domestic abuse? Why wasn’t his escape from a nut house not reported? Either one of those happenings would have triggered a negative report on a background check.

The Air Force is not alone in this screw up.
