The defense presented a case suggesting that this kind of sh!t happens in the U.S. Senate all the time ... then asked the jurors to consider why Menendez is being singled out among the 99 others.
That's why the juror says she thinks Menendez is being "railroaded." She simply bought their line of defense, that's all.

But as you say , judge should have reminded her, although dismissed from the case, the case continues and do not discuss it. I am sure judge reminded the current jurors as they left for the weekend.
Our best bet at getting the seat is if he gets off after a mistrial, runs again and is renominated, which he conceivably could be. Him going to prison doesn’t do much for me if his replacement is another POS.
The several Hispanics on the jury ensure an acquittal

I don’t think so; more like a hung jury. I thought even this juror said that; I doubt the Americans on the jury will let him slide.
NJ is quickly filling with Hispanics as Americans flee the state, and most of them view the world through a racial prism. Just as blacks who knew OJ was guilty still applauded his acquittal, many Hispanics will cheer the same for Menendez - just sticking it to whitey.
As a Jewess on the US, I can only point out that the number of women who allegedly DATED, but had no sex with, Roy Moore is EXACTLY the same number who accused President Clinton of FORCIBLE RAPE, a FAR more serious offense. Now we know why all REAL Americans put our 2nd Amendment FIRST. Just sayin’!
I don’t think anyone here felt Sen. Menendez would be convicted. It is after all, New Jersey. This woman’s statements pretty much guarantee a mistrial. In any event, the jury is hung (IMO). What purpose would a re-trial serve?
