One of the women who said Senate candidate Roy Moore pursued her while she was in high school worked for Hillary Clinton's campaign as a sign language interpreter, according to videos and documents posted online.
Deborah Wesson Gibson, owner of the interpreting company Signs of Excellence, provided services for Clinton during her 2016 campaign, as well as working with former Democratic Vice President Joe Biden during other events. Photos posted to her company's social media site show her providing sign language services for Sen. Patrick Murphy and Sen. Bill Nelson, both Florida Democrats.
Gibson's company has offices in Florida and Alabama, providing sign language interpretation to businesses, politicians, governments and more.
Gibson did not respond to texts or email messages seeking a comment. The voice mail box for her phone is full. She told AL.com yesterday she stood by her comments in the Washington Post interview.
In a 2016 interview with Florida's WLRN, Gibson outlined the challenges that come with providing interpretation at a political rally.
"One of the things that she (Hillary Clinton) does," Gibson said, "Is that she'll say, 'You know what? If standing up for equal pay is playing the woman's card, then DEAL ME IN!'"
"And you might normally interpret that say something like, 'Include me," says Gibson. "But because that's one of the things that she says, we literally sign, "Deal me in," like it was cards that you were dealing. We want to capture and hold that euphemism and let the deaf person have access to that as well. So they can be party of the frenzy".
Photos showing Gibson with Clinton and Biden began circulating on social media shortly after the Moore piece was published. Clinton's campaign expenditures do not list payments to Gibson or Signs of Excellence, however, and neither she nor her company responded to questions if Gibson donated her services.
She is not listed as a donor to Jones, though she has shared one of his campaign fliers on Facebook.
Gibson told the Washington Post she was 17 in 1981 when Moore, then a 34-year-old assistant district attorney in Etowah County, spoke to her high school civics class and asked her on a date shortly after. Two other women said Moore pursued them when they were in their teens while another, Leigh Corfman, said she had a sexual encounter with Moore when she was 14 and he was 32.
Gibson told The Post she and Moore dated for two or three months but only shared kisses. She said her mother told her she'd be the "luckiest girl in the world" to date Moore.

I noticed the mention of a mother. I have been wondering about what these parents were thinking, about this man dating their underage daughters who were about half his age. The whole thing looks very consensual.
As a Jewess on the US, I can only point out that the number of women who allegedly DATED, but had no sex with, Roy Moore is EXACTLY the same number who accused President Clinton of FORCIBLE RAPE, a FAR more serious offense. Now we know why all REAL Americans put our 2nd Amendment FIRST. Just sayin’!
Also allegations that the Beth journalist is on tape soliciting accusations for $1000, that this was recorded, and now in the hands of a district attorney.

Also the fact that Corfman accused multiple other men of making advances to her including her pastor who she sued for same in 2007.
Pretty pathetic attempt at smearing Moore. Doubt if she ever did anything with him besides say hello.
One thing that Breitbart did in scooping this was force the WaPo and Mitch to move NOW. But it was too soon. I have this feeling that in the coming weeks this story is going to unravel. (if untrue).
Of course, if Moore did these things, then he should stand down. But if he did not, then he needs to hang tough and outlast this. I have a feeling that the truth is going to come out as to the ties of these accusers. Also, with Bannon and Breitbart on his side they are going to get to the bottom of this.

The problem with this whole thing is that the timing is too convenient, and women know how this goes. If this happened 34 years ago, what was the fallout for the victims? Where are the new victims, or are there going to be people trotted out on election day?
We are dealing with a party that ran the ad about a fictional supporter of the other candidate trying to run down minority children in a pickup truck.
What is the need for sign language interpreters at these events? How many deaf people go to political rallies or news conferences? With the technology today, they can broadcast the transcript of the speech in real time.
It’s a lucrative racket. I’m sure there are kickbacks involved, as with any peripheral political gambit.
I’m calling shenanigans too. This is too convenient timing wise and its unprovable one way or the other. I suspect that there is going to be more of this culminating in a bombshell accusation trotted out on election day.
It is all kabuki all the time. I was a SL interpreter for many years, my father before me. By her comments this interpreter is not interpreting, she is translating, big difference.
The SLI is hired for show, to demonstrate inclusiveness. Few, if any, deaf requiring SLI attend such affairs.
What the mom was thinking was that her daughter had a chance to land a West Point Military Academy graduate, reserve Army Captain and Vietnam vet who had recently graduated from University of Alabama Law School as a husband.
In 1980s Alabama that was blue chip most eligible bachelor qualifications. Many an mommy would have considered Moore a heck of a catch and would have went out of their way to set their teen daughter up with him.
There were only about three men per year from Alabama elected for the prestigious honor of attending West Point and very few went on to become successful lawyers so if they could make it work , who cares about a few years age difference .
Besides Southern women of the era married early and many preferred older, successful and well established men. Most Southern Belles of the era were 18 going on 29 who could take care of themselves.
The attitude at the time was that more successful the man the better for the woman to marry as young as possible to make it easier to fend off the secretary, home wreckers and hussys when they start making runs at their wealthy and successful mid 40s husbands.
FWIW my steady girlfriend was 17 when I was 18 and she dumped me to date and eventually marry a 30 year guy ‘cause he was a man and I was just a little boy by comparison. He had a new car, good job and an apartment all to himself.
She went after him, not the other way around
So lets stop pretending that every teen age girl who is dating an older guy is some damsel in distress being preyed on by a sicko.
Lots of young girls prefer older men, even much older men.
For heaven’s sake this was Alabama 35 years ago, whole different story...last time I was over there in the 90 s want not much better...I know women that got married at 15...and everyone was happy

When this first broke, it overwhelmingly smelled like dirty tricks. You could tell right away who all the dirty tricksters were by all the coordinated calls for Judge Moore to step down.

The 14-year-old was the center of a custody battle when Roy Moore met her and her mom at the courthouse and offered to sit with the girl while her mom headed into the courtroom to do battle. It is not unusual for workers like that to want to find out what is best for the kid in a situation like that. I could see someone just hanging out and chatting with the kid to find out if there is a drinking problem or something else going on with one or both of the parents. It might be worthwhile to see how things went for the girl.
There is no doubt that a pervert would be attracted to an at risk kid like this.
There is also no doubt that there are more than a few guardian angels out there trying to prevent that from happening to at risk kids.
Geez, at the rate these accusers are being picked apart, by this time next week all of this will be down the memory hole.
Smoke these bastards out.
