Well, just to be clear here, the Ruger Ranch Rifle IS a AR-15, just in sheep’s clothing.

The designs are not even close. The only similarity is they use .223 and are magazine fed.
The ranch rifle is a traditional stock (from Ruger) with no pistol grip, no adjustable LOP, no possibility for a bayonet mount, no threaded barrel and it goes on. It is similar to the M1 Garand except magazine instead of enbloc clip.
