Facebook Banned Me for Tying Islamic Terror to...Well, Islam

A week or so ago I was banned (again!) by Facebook for critical comments I made about Islam. I was reported by a Muslim female called Farnaz Javed. This Muslimah frequently carries out Islamic Da‘wah on a Facebook discussion page called "The Great British Political Debate." In other words, she does very little politics; and what politics she does do is always connected to Islam in some way.

I've been reported -- and subsequently banned -- by Facebook before, either by Muslims or by their left-wing enablers. Indeed, I've been previously banned after debating with this very woman. I also know other people who suspect that it was this woman who reported them to Facebook. Who knows how many other people Farnaz Javed has reported over the months.

Facebook's Community Standards

Facebook firstly told me (see image) that

“[i]t looks like something you posted doesn't follow our Community Standards”.

They aren't “community” standards at all because the users of Facebook don't formulate them. Facebook itself does. (This is Facebook's Community Standards page.)

And then Facebook stated its position this way:

“We remove posts that attack people based on their race, ethnicity, national origin, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, gender or disability.”

I repeatedly reported a flat-out CRIMINAL to Facebook (dropped a certified package of evidence on their Security Director). Guy was in the UK. They did BUPKIS. Facebook is Evil.

yeah... “community standards” is about as much oxymoron with Facebook as “people’s republic” is with China.

Some elite, in both case, has a wicked whip hand over the show.

That being as it may, we can validly clarify that not every form that Islam has in this world carries an equal degree of wickedness. And probably should clarify, every time that we bring up these Islamoterrorism issues. It’s “that old time religion,” Islamic style, that is giving us the headaches. Islam itself frequently saw moderating influences over the years since Mohammed lived. Fundamentalism might be good for Christianity, but it is horrible for Islam.

And I think that we might even be able to get the Facebook elite on board with such a distinction. That we aren’t here to pan all Islamic people. We’re here to warn about the dangers of fundamentalism in Islam. Which has done far worse things, from an overall historical view, than any kind of thrust to fundamentalism in almost any other world faith, including Christianity and Judaism.

Facebook has been accused of "enabling vicious Jewish hatred" after telling users an image depicting human remains on a shovel below the tag line "How to pick up Jewish chicks" did not breach its standards.

Just days after back flipping on its decision to censor an iconic Vietnam War photo of a naked girl escaping a napalm bombing, the social media giant is again under fire over its handling of posts reported as offensive.

In reply to complaints about the shovel image - which was widely shared, "liked" 21,000 times, and received more than 37,000 comments - Facebook said: "We reviewed the post you reported for displaying hate speech and found it doesn't violate our community standards."

Under its community standards policy, Facebook says it "removes hate speech" that attacks people based on their race, ethnicity, national origin and religious affiliation.

"We allow humour, satire or social commentary related to these topics, and we believe that when people use their authentic identity, they are more responsible when they share this kind of commentary," the policy says.

The image was posted to a page attributed to a Queensland man late last month and shared 2280 times. It has now been removed but tens of thousands of comments, many of which are anti-Semitic, were still visible in the thread as late as Thursday.

A Facebook spokesman said the image was removed for breaching community standards and that the company was still investigating.

But 24 hours after being asked, the spokesman could still not say when the photo was taken down. Facebook could also not explain why only the photo was initially removed and not the entire thread - which is standard when a post is pulled.

Keep in mind that “community standards” means “what the people running the community think it is” (and it isn’t the subscribers) and this will be easier.

And/or, a public complaint campaign. If enough of the folks whose ads popped up got earfuls, Facebook might get enough heat to see the light. Hey, why are you advertising amidst THIS garbage?

My presence on Facebook isn’t for entertainment. It’s for influence, and so my leaving it wouldn’t be the first move I would consider condign.

True enough, and yet the Head Fascists can’t look EVERYWHERE. There’s way too much stuff.

So clandestine campaigns on Facebook are both possible and, I believe, morally and spiritually obligatory.

Oddly enough, that didn’t happen to me, though I did have my account “kicked upstairs” for “appearing to be a public figure.” Well shee-oot. I wish I knew a Facebook publicity expert, maybe I could make even more hay out of this than I have been.

I banned myself a few weeks from Facebook. I have not made up my mind yet, if it’s permanent or not. Regardless I very seldom go there and stay less than five minutes to read some messages.

But ironically, I think “public figuredom” has made it possible for me to say things, and challenge things, that might draw wrath on lesser entities.

Facebook directorate isn’t principled. It’s venal. And if they are suck-ups, then we should all strive for “public figuredom” on FR.
