A U.S. warship collided with a Japanese commercial tug boat in Japan's Sagami Bay on Saturday, marking the fifth time this year that a ship in the U.S. Navy's 7th Fleet in the Pacific has been involved in a crash. The Japanese tug boat lost propulsion and drifted into the USS Benfold during a towing exercise. The U.S. guided-missile destroyer sustained minimal damage, and there were no reported injuries on either vessel, according to a press release from the U.S. Navy's 7th Fleet. The USS Benfold, which is awaiting a full damage assessment, remains at sea under its own power. The incident will be investigated, the 7th Fleet said.

Ummm, could be that the Japanese tug boat collided with US warship.
This sounds fairly trivial... thank God.
Navy needs a complete makeover from top to bottom.
Navy needs to get rid of the curse it has.
ABC is playing this up to discredit our NAVY.
The tugboat lost power during a towing exercise.
That might be the case. Another headline calls it a scrape...
Misleading headline. The tug boat collided with the warship.
The tug lost propulsion in a docking exercise. Not an open navigation issue at all.
“The tugboat lost power during a towing exercise”.
That’s right. Some people here need to read the story before they start wetting their pants.
Misleading headline — the Japanese tug lost power and ran into the U.S. warship, not the other way around. In such a scenario, the vessel under power is burdened, however, given the towing exercise underway, there may not have been enough time or the ability to react.
That said, there is a problem with manpower, training, and personnel & material readiness in the Navy, as well as the other Services. Thanks Bush-Clinton-Bush-Obama.
You must not have read the story. The headline is misleading.
Imagine this headline.
US Navy blasts Japanese Tug Boat out of water to avoid collision.
Doesn’t sound like such a big deal...unless the Navy vessel was smaller than the Japanese tug boat.
Wait. I want to add to my headline to make it sound more MSM like.
US Navy blasts Helpless Japanese Tug Boat out of water to avoid collision.
I think I should go down to the Navy office and tell them they need to hire me to stand on the forward deck of one of those expensive ships with a walkie talkie.
In a hurry. It would not require training.
Young Men, women, gays and transsexuals with raging hormones trapped on a boat in the middle of the ocean, what could go wrong?
I saw that headline first. That’s why I called ABC for sensationalizing it against the NAVY.
Our media is so disgusting.
