Where will you get the reward money from?
They have amazing brains and minds and social systems.
I feel the same way about elephants that I do about the cetaceans - we shouldn’t be hunting these, we should be studying them.
One more point then I’ll let you go. :) Even if Trump sticks to no ivory from Africa, there can’t be more than a handful of hunters or can afford it from the US, and too few to effect the overall population. It comes down to those Asian countries and China in particular who like their ivory. I think the Chinese uses rhino horns for medicinal or sexual enhancing purposes. ;^)
LoL. I like it. :-)
Be careful. You might just change the minds of the the bunny huggers on this thread with your common sense.
More importantly it comes down to local govts that desire to take on the poachers. People are much more apt to protect the species if it is in their economic self interest. This is why trophy hunting for large amounts of dollars is so beneficial for the sustainability of a species.
I found a short video that might help explain a few things.

I was wrong about Kenya, it has banned hunting. Zimbabwae has controlled hunts and a increase in its elephant population, see:

Animals are not people.
Your Disneyfication is showing.
For hundreds of years, African elephants have been considered dangerous game. Hundreds, perhaps thousands of hunters have been killed by elephants.
If elephants are not dangerous to hunt, nothing is dangerous to hunt, as sport hunting is done.
Rabbits are not dangerous to hunt. Deer are not dangerous to hunt. Ducks are not dangerous to hunt.
Elephants, Lions, Leopards, Cape Buffalo, and Rinos are dangerous to hunt.
Well, my prayer is that Trump will keep big game trophy regs in place. I believe he is leaning this way. Good on him. Killing such beautiful majestic animals is just plain stupid.
I totally agree. It isn't sport...it's disgusting.
Why in sam hell would anyone want to shoot a deer? They don’t stand a chance. /s
So you add “controlled” hunting to the illegal poaching, which they are not controlling, and you will soon have an extinct species.
We’re not talking deer here, it takes too many years for a single bull elephant to reach maturity fast enough to replenish the population when you have both the “controlled” hunter and the poacher destroying them.

Controlled (regulated) hunting has actually proven to diminish poaching in Zimbabwe and other places, and the number of elephants have *increased*. Why? There is incentive for the locals to crack down on poaching.
Why would anybody want to kill a baby.Legal and it’s disgusting.
Couldn’t agree more about babies. How twisted is our society that this has been legalized?!!!
(((((Hugs)))))
I don’t think you could prove to me that the elephant population is increasing and I don’t think that I could prove to you that it’s not, so we’ll have to agree to disagree on this subject.
