A federal judge on Monday permanently blocked President Donald Trump's executive order to cut funding from cities that limit cooperation with U.S. immigration authorities.

U.S. District Court Judge William Orrick rejected the administration's argument that the executive order applies only to a relatively small pot of money and said Trump cannot set new conditions on spending approved by Congress.

Pardon the typo.

But this judge is delusional. He needs to be recalled.

Federal judges cannot be recalled. They can be impeached by the House with a majority vote, but after a trial in the Senate, it takes a two thirds vote to convict and remove.

The votes aren't there in the Senate.

The article is wrong in it’s title.

A single judge cannot make a “permanent” block on Trump’s order. Such a block would/will be appealed to the full circuit court, and if it upholds that one judge it would be appealed to the SCOTUS.

The judge’s ruling itself is just one temporary legal step in what can be a long process. At this point it cannot be said to be “permanent”.

I have faith in President Trump. He will see this as a speed bump and find another way in, around, under or through.

President Trump wants to SAVE America. He’ll do all he can.

sessions has the way around this already, all this kind of funding is given based on scored applications. They are adding a question about immigration compliance to the ranking.

Congress should attach “strings” to the next appropriation that would allow this cut off.

A previous ruling was a temporary hold, that was what was being appealed.

This time he made it permanent.

“The judge had previously made the same arguments in a ruling that put a temporary hold on the executive order targeting so-called sanctuary cities. The Trump administration has appealed that decision to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.”

Big question is whether he has the authority for this.

If Congress was in Republican hands, they could just craft a law to fix this. Oh, wait, this is the same bunch of losers who took one look at Trump’s submitted budget, then turned their back and walked away, chuckling.

And Jeff Flake was the only "Republican" to vote for him. Those RINO sleepers have done a lot of mischief.

So one single judge can pretty much decide all US policy.
