Sen. Susan Collins is now pushing for twice the amount of money she originally requested in an Obamacare bill she's co-sponsoring in order to win her vote on the tax overhaul measure, The Hill reports.
The Maine Republican is co-sponsoring a bill with Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Florida, that would provide states with $10 billion over two years to establish reinsurance programs to lower premiums or high-risk pools. They had originally requested $4.5 billion in the bill, the report said.
"This plan will provide $5 billion annually for two years in seed money for states to establish invisible high-risk pools or traditional reinsurance programs," Collins said in a statement Friday, the report said.
President Trump told Collins before the Senate's tax bill vote that he supported legislation to stabilize the insurance markets and to fund states' high-risk pools.

Rural communities will fight tooth and nail to hold on to their hospitals, primarily for that reason. Even if the strip malls are vacant, and the downtown shopping district is boarded up, as long as there is a hospital, money will be circulating in the community.
Of course if we still made our shoes, sheets, blankets, shirts, pants, machinery, and electronics here in America, this wouldn't be an issue would it?
So long as the individual mandate is repealed, Obamacare is effectively dead.

Obama set a precedence for taking money budgeted for other programs and putting it into Obamacare stabilization. Trump could use that precedent to use money budgeted for Obamacare stabilization to build The Wall. I’d support impeachment if he actually did that (and Obama should have been impeached for similar things), but I’d love to seem Trump tweet that it was his plan.

True, but it lingers in very expensive hospice care for people in a Plan. Ya know, folks who don't get health insurance at work or work in Congress.
